Fuck me, I'd have been fined about £4,000,000 if I'd have been the Stoke manager after Saturday's disgraceful refereeing performance.

i keep saying this but, who are refs accountable to? when you see all the pathetic decisions made - this is whats frustrating to me - they just seem to get away with it.

If I remember correctly, referees are controlled by some form of referee association, and not the FA. This is the association that gives them ridiculous amounts of support and wont allow them to explain decisions that they gave to the media.
Could be wrong though.

If they'd have looked at the re-run of the decisions Pulis questioned then they'd have realised Pulis is right to question those decisions. Instead they fine him £10,000 which is a complete joke and illustrates further just how incompetent they are....
If i was Pulis not only would i appeal i would also consult a lawyer because afterall surely in this day and age he's entitled to voice an opinion.
Fucking joke....

How the fcuk there wasn't at least two straight reds in that game is a mystery 'well, not a mystery because here you have two TOP teams that have had run inns with officials before and they dont want to upset them too much'.....
Bellamy should be serving a 3 week prison sentance for that assault never mind 3 games what he at least deserved.
He got a lecture...it's been seen so what do you say to him?...
Football is wank, had enough and i might just jack it in because it winds me up...

I suppose you can't really have a "Respect" campaign which says "Respect, but only when I'm in the wrong".

I have no idea if the 'rules' state that PUBLIC criticism is not allowed but presumably it cuts both ways as referees cannot publicly criticise managers. As usual, if you don't like the rules, get them changed but until then, you can't plead ignorance of the 'punishment' that you know will ensue. On a similar note, this wekend, Pulis publicly criticised his defence (justifably judging by the posts on here) yet those players are not allowed to respond - isurely, in this day and age, they are entitled to voice an opinion - or is it all one-way? .....and what punishment would SCFC dish out if they did plead free speech and 'answered back'?

Personally its all a big bag of bollocks if the ref has made a mistake and an obvious one then Pulis should be allowed to say what he wants. If I've made such a hash of my job like Probert did then I would expect crictism from anyone connected. As for whether those comments should be made public or not is down to the fact that some of these refs now think they are celebs and act like this to raise their profile then like any other celeb the crictism should be made public. Also managers often need to vent their anger and sometimes show fans they are just as annoyed.

As I said before, if you don't agree with the rules, then try and change them but until then stop squealing and accept you knew what you were doing - and pay up.

The players on the field at the time of such bad calls by the ref should all go and stand in a huddle and basically stop the game to show there disrespect. I can remember playin years ago that we all walked off untill the captain had words with a shite ref and we had a written complaint against him stating why we had done this.

Do you do this every time you disagree? What if the opposition disagree with your disagreement - do they go into a huddle as well? The ref should abandon the game and award it to the opponents. Grown men acting like spoilt children? Whatever next - stamp your foot and take your ball home'? About time people remembered it's just a game - nothing more

It's a game where many aspects of it have developed and it's reached the stage where referees need assistance. Its churlish to say it's just a game when there is so much money at stake. Video technology or extra officials should be looked at so that referees can do their job better. Mike Jones' performance on Saturday was the latest in a long line of poor officiating.

No one has commented on the obscene amount of money the fine represents.
No one seems to be concerned about the fact that this represents almost 6 months salary for most people (more in some cases)...
Yes...we all know he can afford it , and I'm only using Tony's fine as an example of how far removed football is financially from the average bloke on the street...
The gap grows ever wider.

Swear the F.A want the managers express their opinion (since y'know that right we all have...whats it called...think its free speech?) and they go and do that, pathetic, the lot of them, ruining football, get a promotion & relegation system based on reviews for referees, it'll improve their concentration and might even give us a fair ref!

A big problem is the fact that managers are obliged to hold post match interviews - and are asked contentious / leading questions by the interviewer ..... (knowing full well that they will get a response whilst the manager is "in the heat of the moment)

It would be nice if one manager moaned about the standard of the ref when he had won the game so it didn't sound like a lame excuse.
TP would do better holding a raffle than apealing to the FA, after all FA does stand for F**K All and thats what they'll do about the ref.
