I'm struggling to get it to load for some reason. Is it just my computer playing up or something or am I clicking the wrong place? I presume you just press the Talksport box under the video title?

I find this whole thing pretty disgusting to be honest and I include some of the "black" players and ex players involved in this.
Paul Elliot for instance is a leading voice in the "Kick it Out Campaign" and is clearly well in with the FA. Probably due to fear of jeopardising his own position in the hierarchies of Football administration, he actually defended, to some extent, the comments of Blatter and said effectively said that he was misunderstood having done some remarkable work in Africa.
Equally, Rio Ferdinand. Immediately blasted Blatter on Twitter following his comments and then launched into comment on Gus Poyet this morning. However, he hasn't tweeted a word about Terry's racist abuse of his own brother. Again, acting to an agenda that suits himself and not his slurred family member.
In that respect, these people don't help themselves.
It was great to hear Dion Dublin, Les Ferdinand and Dwight Yorke comment and denounce every aspect of racism and it is a pity that those mentioned above didn't do likewise.
Blatter, Suarez, Poyet, Terry and any other vile scumbag that cares to utter racist slurs to people of a different skin colour should be hung out to dry. It isn't acceptable under any circumstances.
The FA should have thrown the book at Terry. It is clear as day what he said to Anton Ferdinand but again, they dally.
The kick racism out campaign is a joke because those at the highest level of our game do absolutely nothing about it when faced with an incident of massive proportions.
Poyet, Terry, Suarez and Blatter should all be sacked, suspended, fined or given whatever is the highest possible form of punishment.
Blatter should be sacked, Poyet and Suarez should be deported and Terry should be banned for the rest of the season at the very least and hit with a multi-million pound fine and even a prison sentence.
Then and only then, will people start to take racism seriously and realise that it is not acceptable in any walk of life!

In essence he's said the same as Blatter. Shouldn't be hammered for it??

Unthinking acceptance of something because it is based on "cultural differences" is a dangerous doctrine. On the one hand many cultural differences cause no harm and can be accepted as simply "differences". For example, I find the Jewish prohibition of the eating of pork or of fasting on the Sabbath strange - even though I do understand the historic reason for the ban on eating pork in a hot climate with no refrigeration. But it isn't something I would get steamed up about.
However, you could use the Poyet argument to excuse Hitler's hatred of the Jews and we know what that led to.
At the end of the day, the majority of the people of this country now think racism is very wrong even though that hasn't always been the case. We have passed laws against it and it is right that we have done so. The fact that Poyet and Suarez come from a society where casual racism is tolerated doesn't mean we should compromise our principles.

Dave, doesn't Rio's lack of comment on the Terry issue stem from the fact that there's an ongoing police investigation into the matter?

Maybe Rob. Maybe.
There wasn't a police investigation in the immediate aftermath of the incident though and Rio didn't twitter then did he?
He was immediately tweeting after the comments of Blatter or Poyet.
Until the time he comes out and completely slates Terry and ends his association with England whilst Terry is involved, then his comments about this whole sorry saga are worthless.
He should stand up to be counted and he should have done so immediately in my opinion, hence my comments. He may be tongue tied now by the investigation but he wasn't in the immediate aftermath of it.
Paul Elliot was worse than Rio.

You posted this on the other thread dave but you're way off the mark.
Even Anton hasn't said anything about what Terry said yet, never mind Rio - it all came from the footage and a member of the public making a complaint. What was said and what the circumstances are is not in the public domain. It would be entirely inappropriate for Rio to come out and start slagging Terry off and calling him a racist at this stage.
Blatter and Poyet both did (numerous) recorded interviews in the media where what they said and implied could not be misconstrued. It's a slightly different thing from the Terry case...!
And even if it wasn't, why should Rio have to answer to anyone about what he chooses to comment on? Why does he have any more responsibility than every other player to speak out?

I haven't said that he has more responsibility than any other player to speak out Potterlog, merely that he seemingly has no problem immediately tweeting about Blatter and Poyet but absolutely nothing about his brother being racially abused.
When Terry is let off the hook, as I fully expect him to be, I hope to hear a little more of what Rio Ferdinand has to say about the incident. I suspect he will maintain his silence as it suits him to do so, a little like Paul Elliot.

According to the newspapers (on that basis I can't confirm if it's true) Rio has not actually spoken to John Terry since the incident and has reportedly refused to answer his phone. Silence can soemtimes be deafening and I suspect once the Police invesitgation is completed Rio will make his true feelings known.

I hope so Panto. I really hope so.
The whole thing is disgusting and as a former England captain and a prominent player in British Footballer, it is important, that when he is able to, Rio makes his feelings on this matter known.
Terry will escape scott free for sure and when he does, I hope that Rio retires from England duty whilst Terry is involved and actually tells all what a scumbag he thinks Terry is.
