Lets hope the England fans do the whole country proud v Spain with a good loud and clear with the fans favourite of "sep blatter you're a wanker" or even some well placed banners letting the weedy little gimp know exactly what the English think of him and his ultra corrupt organisation.

Don't understand all this bollocks about the poppy, what difference does it make anyway? IF the England players want to show it some support then donate some of their stupid wages, the feckless tossers. I see the EDL are now on the roof of the FIFA building waving a flag about. Former squaddies must be brimming with pride.

You might like to know that every single one of the England team take not one penny for playing for their country and give every last penny to charity......just a thought like

Perhaps that's why they look so unhappy and uninterested. The tossers.

Thought this was a rather good article on the subject uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/football/early-doors/article/356270/So, its not political but the Prime Minister gets involved. It would be interesting to see in future how the FA would react if the Irish wished to remember thos that died in the Potato famine. England have played something like 15 times over the years at this timeframe and never before have worn poppies.

Its amazing how we can turn the positive actions of the FA into a negative no matter what the situation. Theres no questioning the fact that they are bunch of clowns, however surely on this occasion people should just accept that what they have done isn't for their own gain. And even if it was - the outcome of their gain (England players being able to wear poppies) is great for the charity which can only be a good thing.

I don't know why we had to ask them in the first place tbh.
It's our bloody country still isn't it.
As long as the Spanish are not offended as it's them were playing I don't see why the England players can't play bollock naked with a poppy in thier bell end.
Anyone else if they're offended, don't bloody watch.
Just seems like the slightest excuse and it's an international incident atm. Send Blatter a poppy see if he dares not to wear it?

Give me strength They had to ask because they knew damn well it wasnt allowed. The FA, like all other countries governing bodies have to follow the rules set down by FIFA for international football. FIFAs rules include not allowing political, religious or personal logos on the shirts and apparently this includes, and has always included, charity logos. It has nothing to do with the poppy 'offending' anyone dcespite what the gutter tabloids and chav morons around the country will claim. The same rule would apply for any other country and this 'I R Ingerland. I R do wat i wantz' bullshit that is being spouted is absolutly pathetic and is doing nothing but make our country look small minded and childish. So to sum it up, the poppy was not allowed on the shirt because of a FIFA rule that has been in place for years. NOT because it might offend the Germans. NOT because evryone hates Ingerland. NOT because it might offend anybody watching on tv. NOT because it might offend the Mislamic Ray Guns. Is that simple enough to understand? Oh, and before it starts again, nobody is trying to ban Christmas. We're sure to have that one pop up soon.

It isn't and never was about anybody being bloody offended. The poppy isn't some white supremist bollocks, it's about those who fought and died for our freedom in WW1 & WW2 (it should be anyway), that includes a whole range of people, the French, the Polish, the Indians etc.
