Watching today's game I can't help thinking we missed out there. He looks a typical Stoke player. Works hard, lost his way a bit and a very decent footballer. For the money, Crouchy or SWP?

I wish we has SWP but. How can you compare Crouch to SWP?

If both Pennant and Etherington were fit, I'd only ever use SWP as an impact sub at Stoke. He's ideal to introduce with about 30 minutes left because his pace can stretch tiring defences, but I think you get a far more consistent final ball from Ethers and Pennant. Must admit though, he's looked a reformed player so far since joining QPR.

SWP played well but that's the first decent game i've seen him have since he was at Man City the first time!! Far too inconsistent, rather have PC, although completely different players.

We never missed out, it's not like we were ever close to signing him. His wage demands would have been a massive stumbling block even if he was ever interested in coming to Stoke.

Agreed ! But like above I think once QPR came in offering the cash they did for wages there was only ever one place he would end up !

He would not come to SCFC - he considers us beneath him.

Someone asked him to join us on twitter and he replied "Stoke, why?", He probably doesn't even know where Stoke is, even though he's played against us a few times
