I think ba will probably show us why we were stupid to give up interest in him, time to grit our teeth and take a good old geordie based anal rape I think.

It would be great to get a 1-0 at home vs Newcastle, since it will be very difficult to get anything out of the Maccabi T-A game. TP said the game vs Bolton on Sunday gonna be the difficult one. Interesting!

You would have struggled to choose easier first games for Toon - Arse at home (when they were crap), Fulham, Wigan, Villa, Wolves, Sunderland, with only Spurs (at home and nearly lost) the only really tricky match til The Bear Pit. Compare with Liv, Man Ure, Chelsea, Arse (when they were good). Bet they're in a different position near Xmas

No chance of Huth and Shawcross in the middle of defence for this one?

bound to see ba score or expect Cabaye to score a screamer as we sit too deep and give too much space and time on the edge of our 18. Just hope crouch can bag a couple, wouldnt be suprised to see jones start tho.

I remember 0-4 v a very strong Newcastle side incl Ferdinand, Ginola and the Whitehead lookalike twin (nothing like him for football sense) Peter Beardsley. Now, who have they got? errm.
Stoke should power their way to win this one though - its about time we won 3-1 at home...

They've not beat us home or away since promotion and we did the double over them last season...
They'll not beat us tonight either..

Although it's not a completely fair or scientific comparison, it's interesting to note that our home record and Newcastle's away record this term are almost identical.
SCFC: P4 W2 D2 L0 F4 A1 NUFC: P4 W2 D2 L0 F4 A2
The smart money would be on a tight game tonight.

No Higgy until after Bolton, I think.
