the army just want young men they can send to 'war' then when they come back dead or injured they just dont want to know
if a soldier has to have any kind of treatment after returning from 'war' then the medical expenses should be taken care of by the MOD for the rest of their lives

It is a disgrace, but surely its just an administrative error, albeit a very cruel one.

"Cannon fodder" has always been treated like this. The surprise is that folk keep signing up for it.

He got paid for ten days after he had died. He is still owed money so they decide to take it from that and send a letter to inform the parents.
Nowt wrong with that.

The care we get has massivley improved since the beginning for the Iraq tours to be honest and the kit has improved ten fold (and we dont even have to buy it ourselves more to the point). Im sure this will get sorted, even if its taken a public outcry to do so

I know for a fact that when the representative from our pay section (a civilian) visits the family to explain compensation, pension, pay, allowances they factor in everything.
I have no doubt the overpayment and subsequent recovery would have been discussed and agreed.
If the family decide to go public with the confirmation letter that is up to them and the media The army do not get involved.
