He's gone off with what looks like a very bad one in the reserves (thanks to the info from Knowles).

Just seen these tweets from Knowles...
Mama's gone. End of his career surely.
I'm assuming it's his knee folks. Down in a heap, players pretty much crying. Very sad.

IF it is as bad as feared then it is very very sad.
The bloke is a true professional and he has battled with alot in his career.
A serious knee injury/2 torn achillies/dragged through glass.
He has made it the hard way, coming from Mali and working his way up form Gillingham.
I know he's not been here 10 years, but maybe a charity match to raise money for his African Soccer School - would be a great tribute. He deserves it.

Life really fuckin sucks sometimes, it's one thing having to end your football career through injury but to end it in a heap on the vale turf is the limit. Really hope this isn't the end for the big man.

Regardless of anyone's opinions on Mama's abilities, this is dreadful for the fella. Mama has earned some love and respect from Stoke fans and I'm certain he'll get it. Gutted for him.
As intimated earlier, would love a chant for him ringing around the ground tonight.

jamestwknowles James Knowles The general feeling is that Mama's knee has popped in some kind of way. Half the team looked physically ill at the sight of the injury.

Fair play, you did.
IF he has done himself in, it's a terrible way for a great servant of this club to bow out. Let's hope it isn't the end of the gentle giant.

You can say what you like about him but if more players had his attitude football would be a more likeable game. Give me one Mama over a dozen Beattie’s and Kitson’s any day of the week.
Amongst a whole host of more lauded and admired players, his goals against Bristol City and Aston Villa are amongst the most important in our recent history and will be memories for life.
Good luck to the big, loveable, lump.
