You don't have a career like that for 35 years by being shit. As for the origional question, love 'em. 'Sorry youre not a winner' is an immense song.

Shikari are a very good modern band. Motorhead are legends. Really. Massively influential on metal and rock. Metallica love em. Lemmy can play bass left or right handed! Class.

Obviously I like a few band from the last 10 years but not many and I'm young so I'm not just old and unwilling to listen to new stuff, there are no bands to get excited about nowadays

Nothing from this century?? :-) Well what is there from this century that's any good. Obviously I like a few band from the last 10 years but not many and I'm young so I'm not just old and unwilling to listen to new stuff, there are no bands to get excited about nowadays There are plenty, you must just be looking in the wrong place The difference between Motorhead and the likes of Cliff Richard are huge. Cliff has maintained his career due to a large loyal, but mainly unchanged fanbase. Iike him or loathe him, he still sells out shows. Lemmy & Co on the other hand are still attracting a new audience. Motorhead gigs are full of as many young kids as old ageing metal heads. Like Maiden and Metallica, they get older but their crowds seem to stay the same age. And Starkiller, spot on sir. Whorehouse Blues and 1916 are two of 'heads finest and both are a million miles away from Ace of Spades. I would guess this is one of your favourates.... You might be a financial wizard, with a sack of loot But all I see is a slimy lizard, with an expensive suit Go on and run your corporation, go on and kiss some ass, You can buy up half the nation, but you can't buy class, You bastards think it's funny, living and stealing all you life, Think all there is, is money, got your future wrapped up tight Just 'Cos You Got The Power, that don't mean you got the right You can take fingers, buddy, you can take my eyes, You can take my past and future, it won't make you wise, You can have me thrown in jail, you can steal my booze, You can even steal my mail, step on my blue suede shoes, You bastards might be clever, got it mapped out in black and white, But remember you can never, get a dog to stand upright, Just 'Cos You Got The Power, that don't mean you got the right Go on out and make another deal, feed your big fat face, Go on out and cop the feel, get on somebody's case, You surely could be satisfied, if you could get it all But time ain't on your side, you're going to the wall, You think that life's just dollars, won with greed and lust and spite But I wasn't born to follow, like to get me sleep at night, Just 'Cos You Got The Power, that don't mean you got the right

Fans of this band should give The Shape Of Punk To Come by Refused a bash (it's on Spotify). It's a clear model for their style and I PERSONALLY feel it's a zillion times better.

Sorry, but anyone who uses this kind of argument (see also: "hip hop is just a black man talking over a beat") deserves this in my eyes:

Not even close. 32 (born 4 years after Motorhead formed) and short hair, yes i wear band shirts but not a leather jacket. To be fair it is a pointless argument. We're not a married couple so we don't have to listen to each others music. So lets just agree that your taste in music is shit and Lemmy is a musical god to disagree

Calm down. Calm down. We rarely agree on anything regarding Stoke City on this forum so we have no chance on seeing eye to eye regarding something as personal as musical tastes. From Schubert to Slipknot. Just because somebody doesn't like a band or genre doesn't mean it's shit ! It just means it's not to your personal taste!
Having said that....... metal rules!!!
