Jon Walters is a true unsung hero.
He has had his flack but up to now but for me he has answered all his critics. Pulis really can identify a player and for the money we paid for him he is looking like yet another masterstroke piece of business by Stoke.
You can see how good he is just with the effort he put in last night, I dont think the Besiktas back four were quite prepared for what SJW Had instore for them.
He and Crouch have to be our first choice pairing from here on in and I cannot wait until the likes of KJ and Fuller are back to see that lot compete alongside Jerome for a starting place.

The list of illustrious posters on that thread is impressive.A humble pie van at the Boothen End would make a mint ;D Yeah, not many covering themsleves in glory there were there? And then people wonder why I have the picture in my signature! You will notice that I am conspicuous by my absence from that thread. A few others could maybe follow my example in future.

I just wasted fifteen minutes of my life re reading that but there really is some great stuff. My few contributions are very level headed too.

The list of illustrious posters on that thread is impressive.A humble pie van at the Boothen End would make a mint ;D we'd definitely sell out of humble pie! Some favourites from the first few pages: bayernoatcake: I've seen him play enough to know he isn't better than Lawrence. y_o_y_delilah: honestly he really is useless, no kidding! David Brent: wank and a waste of money stokiejack: hes fucking wank and not worth a million and I'll be honest, I was underwhelmed by the signing and am happy to have a piece of humble pie as well.

I'm astounded at the progress Walters has made. He's now our best player...not just our most hard-working, or most-improved, our BEST player. It just goes to show, if you put the effort and commitment in, anything's possible. From Wanky Walters to Suuuuuuuppper Jon in 18 months. What a legend. Yeah. No ifs or buts now. I think he probably is our best player, full stop. And we look a different team with him playing that role. He knows how to play it perfectly, and is one of the few players with the three-lunged energy to do it. Something clicked for him in about January, and he's rarely been short of top class in pretty much every game since. agree with both of you

I like the fact that he plays with a big smile on his face, like Crouchy.

I think he epitomises the whole Stoke ethic - terrific player for us and is badly missed when he doesn't start.

until January 2011 many on here thought he was crap, so don't play that card mate.
I have not seen such a transformation in any Stoke player in the 36 years I've been watching. He is simply unsellable now. Imagine that after some o0f the shockers he had this time last year,
Well done to the bloke. He plays like we'd all like to if we wore the stripes.

This is to me what management is about. Jonny Walters is poised to be a legend. Maybe our next Ricardo
