Taken from the BBC website: The incident also should have seen United awarded a penalty after Hernandez, who was clean through on goal, was nudged in the back by Woodgate, sending him clattering into Begovic. Tackles were flying in from all angles and referee Peter Walton showed Glenn Whelan a yellow card for a reckless lunge on Patrice Evra United were claiming handball against Ryan Shawcross, who appeared to block Evra's shot with the back of his upper arm I love balanced reporting. Christ even ESPN knew they weren't penalties in the end.

Reckless lunge? Jesus wept, he got a foot to the ball first and Evra was already jumping out of the way.
As for the Hernandez penalty shout, Woodgate again got a toe to the ball first, Hernandez didn't have control of the ball, hence not a penalty.

I'd like to see that one again. But they should have had a penalty when Bego kicked Young after his wank control. Blatant peno from first look.
And reckless lunge my arse.

What was Ryan supposed to do, shove his arms up his arse! He didn't exactly have them outstretched!!

....and the ESPN summariser claimed it should have been a pen for handball because Ryan turned his back!
Neither were penalties and it wasn't even a foul by Glenn - won the ball cleanly then his momentum made him follow through.

It was a great challenge by Glenn from where I was sitting.
Went in hard but clearly won the ball and it was a challenge he had to make to let them know we meant business.
Our battling qualities were superb today and it was the first time since promotion that we really got stuck into them.
