Few years ago had my car written off by an uninsured driver. Couldn't begin to tell you how pissed off I was! No car, no dosh and no prospect of any coming in! While I sympathise with young kids trying to find ridiculous amounts to get on the road, its completely despicable to get out there uninsured.

You'd have thought he could have afforded to take out some Insurance..! A look through the court files in our local newspapers shows a disproportionate number of asian names being prosecuted for driving without insurance and other motoring offences. Add to that the chavvy scumbags from places like Holmewood and the other vile estates around Bradford, it is easy to see how it is so high in this list. Bradford is fast becoming a lawless shithole being takenover by the shit of society who have no frespect for any kind of authority or for anybody else. Decent people stay away from the city centre now and it is slowly dieing.

Unfortunately the very high high cost of young inexperienced drivers insursnce premiums means that it is very tempting for them to drive uninsured. Look at the figures.......young driver buys a banger for 500 notes insurance could cost up to £5000. So he/she drives uninsured because the loss of the crushed car if they get caught plus 250 quid fine makes it well worth it to them. But they dunner consider human cost if involved in an accident.

I've never considered driving un-insured, but I think its ridiculous how much it is for young people to insure their car.
I'm a named driver on my old mans 1.2 Ford Fiesta 07 plate, cost me £1700.
Like lawrieleslie says, some people don't think about what happens if they are involved in a crash when they're un-insured, but the extortionately high costs for young drivers do nothing to disuade people from driving un-insured

Uninsured drivers are costing each and everyone of us (drivers) £30 per year in increased premiums as a result of their reluctance to pay for car insurance. The uninsured Capital of the UK is Bradford with 7 times the national average of uninsured drivers. This is closely followed by parts of the West Midlands. with similar statistics. i'm pretty sure half don't have licenses up here as well to be fair! ;D

Costs me 350 1400 for my 1.4 Toyota corolla, it was 2200 last year. I'm 21 so still in the 'risky' category for another few years. I've seen the way some of my mates drive though so not really surprised.

uninsured drivers do cost additional on your insurance, however, if one hits you you'll be paid out by the motorist insurance bureau, it like insurance on your insurance
