Just four famous names that quickly spring to mind in the managerial 'out of work club'...
Can you think of any more or any that are likely to 'rise from the ashes like King Kenny did..? ???

Can anyone remember Glen Hoddles biggest 'faux pas' regarding his comments about disabled people...? How could anybody forget "You and I have been physically given two hands and two legs and half-decent brains," he was quoted as saying. "Some people have not been born like that for a reason. The karma is working from another lifetime. "I have nothing to hide about that. It is not only people with disabilities. What you sow, you have to reap."

What you sow, you have to reap." Hoddle is an example of how talent as a player (one of the few genuine class acts to have worn the England shirt in the last 30 years or so) does not necessarily translate into talent as a manager. In fairness, there are better examples of that old chestnut (Bobby Charlton, Alan Ball - even Souness - the list is endless), but chairman/owners continually fall into the trap. But as noted above, he was a barm cake of biblical (sic) proportions. The role of Eileen Drury in the England set-up was jaw-droppingly weird. And he once noted how it was karma that Arsene Wenger should have wound up at Arsenal. He might have noted at the same time how odd it was that the following managerial marriages never took place: Jack Charlton at The Valley John Aston at Villa Gordon McQueen at QPR Alan Sunderland at Roker Park Georgie Berry at, er, Gigg Lane. And he never adequately explained how it was that cup final hero Bobby Stokes never managed us after retiring. But on the basis of Hoddle's brilliant thoughts, I predict Ashley Cole or John Terry will end up in the hotseat at Scunthorpe.

Glenn Hoddle was a fairly decent England manager I thought.
Obviously he had to go once he made those mental comments, but up to that point he was doing a pretty decent job.

Hoddle was an OK manager. But he allowed his own ego to overshadow the whole operation.

Cardiff turned down Cardiff at the last moment. Being owned by Malaysians means they arer infatuated with the premier league so Shearer was a huge attraction .
If he's going to manage (and he says he wants to) he should manage ferfuxache.
Shearer's a tosspot. He got a few Newcastle managers sacked when they didn't pick him and was also a part of Hoddles England departure. He had one go himself and got the club he loved relegated whioch was very sad! ;D

You know despite the fact that I think he was a right twat with the disabled comments, I'm apt to agree that he was an ok manager. I can even kind of accept the view that some held about the unfairness of his dismissal ( it being non football related. ) My own view however was that he had to go, sometimes its about more than the game!

He never seems fussed about becoming a manager and yet he seems to expect people to hand him jobs. When asked if he was going back into management, he said something like 'if the opportunity arises', not 'I'm getting as many management qualifications as possible and looking for jobs'. In other words, he's only interested in a cushy job where he's hired for his reputation.
