England flag Colours are Red & White...Simple. The only blue is the Lions on the Badge, so why the Blue Strip. Also why do we sing 'God Save the Queen' that is the British National Anthem we should have an England song ...suggestions on a postcard to Mr F Cappela.

Good shirt designs were dismissed after they stopped trending with Blue WKD drinkers...

I believe that Nike now own Umbro which makes the "Sports Direct Umbro appeal" much more baffling.
You'd have thought that the Nike style of Couture would have trickled through to Umbro by now.

Generaly speaking when making a football kit, the designers start by thinking about what will make the team stand out to each other across a green pitch with a crowd as a back-drop. They go on to consider things like: will the collar be comfortable; will the cut allow good movement without providing too match material for the opposition to grab hold of; how the shape and drape will allow air to flow through the garment, aiding breathability and keeping the wearer cool; etc. Then the marketing guy pops round the door and says "Throw that shit away, it's got to look good with a pair of jeans in a bar in Torremolinos". ;D Seems about right for the crap they'll be playing in now.

England should play in either red or white all the time.

England traditionally play in white and blue because they are the colours of the English FA's badge. The red and white flag never came into it because, in the 19th Century, the Cross of St George wasn't really used that much and, coincidentally, England identified itself more through the Union Flag, which is dominated by blue anyway. And, in actual fact, the England change strip before WW2 was a royal blue shirt with white shorts. So, in actual fact, the new strip is more traditional than the red. We just like the red one 'cos it harks back to 1966 and Bobby Moore holding the World Cup aloft.
For a similar reason, the Germans play in white shirts (even though their flag has no white in it) because their national flag was red, white and black before the war (not the Nazi flag, the second empire's red white and black tricolour). But God knows why the Italians play in blue shirts!
Why the fuck am I writing this anorak nonsense ???
