not to be pedantic, but FNL is high school. GODDD!!! do you follow a college team? michigan state are mine, but i'll watch any one if it's on. i do hate oregon for some reason though. i think it's that fucking duck mascot that does my head in. also, how is that book? ideally i prefer to read a book before watching the film, but that is one that i've seen but not read

It makes great watching on a Saturday. Watch the footy from England then the first game at midday, last game finishes at 2am the next morning. A great session.
Not really got a favourite team. I like Cincinnati, being my local team (and funky uniforms), but don't really like OSU (seem a little like the Man Utd of college footy). A lot of people are tipping Oregon to win it (well, the 1 bowl game they qualify for) all this year.

I've got mixed feelings towards college ball. I love the crowds and the atmosphere and the passion that the locals have towards their team but overall the quality of the NFL is so much better. I'll be hoping to catch Stanford a few times this year though because Andrew Luck seems to be the real deal and I can see a couple of NFL teams (Broncos maybe) deliberately having a stinker this season to get their hands on him in next year's draft because he could be a quarterback to build a franchise around.

ahh well, at least OSU won't be up to too much this year yeh auburn went straight down the rankings after newton and fairley got drafted, whereas oregon pretty much still have all their main stars. still hate that bloody duck though!! the gators are one of the favourites as well (last time i looked anyway). the atmospheres seems to be way better at college games, and although the quality as a whole probably isn't as good as the NFL, i prefer college ball because they seem to go for the riskier and 'showreel' plays more often than in the NFL. they kids seem to put more effort in than the pro's as well. shit quality, but this was my favourite game last year.. rhodesy, it's on ESPN america in the uk. (sometimes on ESPN if they've got nothing better to show live at 2am)

Great game between Baylor and TCU last night. Getting ready for a full day today (and Reds v Cards at 4pm). It's going to be about 38C here... the fridge is full of beer. All is good!

The atmosphere is "better" at college games as the crowds are much larger. There are several stadiums that have capacities well over 100,000. Whereas the average NFL capacity is only about 65,000. Plus at college stadiums you get the bands from each college with about 200 people with instruments..

I had a tour around the Ohio State Stadium a couple of years ago. Pretty impressive it was too. What are the chances of us getting a band that could spell "Stoke" out of the pitch before the game.

I work at USC, so I'd like them to do well even if they are banned from playing in a "bowl" game.
It annoys me that they call it football though. Gridiron would be a better name. College gridiron and the NGL.

I'm a Huskies fan myself, gutted the Seahawks never went for Jake Locker in this years draft, one of the best college QBs in the country, a proper West Coast QB.

Makes me sick everytime i hear this sport called football. There is only one football. And its not called soccer thick American cunts! to be fair to them, they have been calling it "football" since the 1860's. so i doubt they're going to change it now also, i'm pretty sure "soccer" is an english born term (abbreviated from 'as SOCiation football', so back in the day they'd be able to differentiate between that and rugby football)
