We've had some horror seasons over the years (relegations, the Brian Little season, the Graham Paddon season) but there was something extra depressing about 2000/01.
We thought we'd cracked it with our great run at the end of the previous season, yet it all came to nothing didn't it.
We were never spectacularly bad, but consistently lame enough to think we were going to be stuck at that level forever.
To be honest we weren't much better the following season, but fluked promotion via Oulare's arse - and the rest is history.
