Tone wouldn't sign a player with a stupid quiff.
Wilson turned up with a fancy floppy hair style. A few weeks later he had the army hair cut with a big bushy tramp-like beard on show.

I have a bad feeling for Q.P.R (not that it bothers me like), but I foresee a finacial mess looming!!! I'd look again then mate as regardless of how much money their chairman has, the Mittal family own 33% of QPR and their net worth makes the Coates's family net worth look like pocket money.

We could have signed him, kept him within our pay structure and given up the rest in signing on even if it was 5m. Where are we going to find some one of his quality for 5m plus wages in this market. If we want to compete year on year we have to spend like the rest of them that's the reality or we can keep buying squad fillers on the cheap from the Championship. Hang on a minute when you say quality he's 28 and done fuck all anywhere really. Hes a bad boy journeyman and at £80k per week Id tell him to fuck right off.

judging by his comments on ssn where he wasnt committing to anything and twitter wheree he tweeted he needs time to think it would not surprise me if this was a smokescreen to get other interested clubs to force their hand.
im surprised its not stoke he has used, that what every other fucker seems to do

Barton is a horrid little fool. He hasn't even signed yet and has tried to play Newcastle off against the fans because they haven't offered him a new deal yet. By signing him QPR have shown a level of desperation rather than showing their intentions. They will still be paying that **** when they are in the championship

Our club has an image problem as it is, we don't want Barton in our squad to make even more people to hate us do we? ;D

If he'd have come to Stoke, he'd inevitably fall out with TP and spend the rest of the season keeping the bench warm for £40,000 a week. Good riddance.

Or he may have been the central midfielder with that extra bit of quality we have been crying out for for years that gives us the impetus to push on for a top 10 finish.

News: QPR boss Neil Warnock has thanked new owner Tony Fernandes for funding a move for Newcastle ace Joey Barton Looks certain then. From the BBC website: Joey Barton on his potential move to QPR: "The latest is that we are just completing the final stages of the medical, so we will just get that over and done with and then see where we are at. I have not made a final decision just yet, but speaking to the club, they have got big ambitions and I had to come down and hear what they have got to say and go through the formalities of the medical side of it just in case any deal does happen." Not exactly done and dusted. Sounds to me like he's holding-out for something better.

I'm not saying he's not a decent midfielder, he was easily Newcastle's best player last season. I'm saying he and TP would definitely fall out as he, (Barton) has a massive gob on him, he'd not play again, and we'd be paying £40,000 a week for nothing.

Absolutely- as say West Ham, Leeds Utd, Leicester etc will verify +1 Wasn't a bad Pompey side in 05/06 was it either? Absolutely- we could go on all day naming clubs that have thrown money at players...............even Bradford and look what has happened!!! IF we were dumb enough to offer Barton 80k odd a week then yes we may well have landed him but it would have been financial lunacy. Thankfully some on here aren't in charge of our transfer budget or they'd blow it all on magic beans and waste the rest

there's no way barton's worth 80 grand a week, however you structure it.he's a decent midfielder and probably would have done a good job for us,but not enough to warrant 80 big uns a week.

Why do people automatically assume that increasing the wage bill means going from 40k per week to 80k per week for everyone? What about increasing it in bite sized managable chunks.
Ok, forget about Barton and his stupid 80k per week. It's clear that we should never offer that.
But offering an extra 5k per week to our top 5 players or new signings would surely help alot in attracting the middle tier players to Stoke (Rodda for example), it would also keep them close to what the rest of the team are earning and so wouldn't cause any unrest in the ranks.
That adds up to 100k more per month or 1.2m per year, which the club can easily afford. Either as additional expenditure or by simply getting rid of some of the deadwood.

There seems to be some doubt about whether he will, although if that £80k figure is true, then I can't see too many other teams being able to match it.
