Some clueless people in there. Apparently Bolton are a bigger club than us.
TheJacko2000 has it about right.
"Liverpool Manchester United Arsenal Chelsea Tottenham Hotspur Everton Leeds United Aston Villa Nottingham Forest Manchester City Newcastle United Sunderland West Ham United Sheffield Wednesday
others around and about
Bolton Ipswich Norwich Blackburn Wolves Birmingham Sheffield United Southampton Leicester City Stoke"

That sour faced twat would love nothing more that to beat Stoke next week. I'd say if he could pick one game all season that he'd like to win it would be us.
Hope Chelsea come back and stuff them.

At the risk of being hung drawn and quartered I would say, based on history, they are the midlands third biggest team after Villa and Wolves, right now IF we get this window and this season right we are the bigger club but I dont think it is an unreasonable thread on the whole from their side....

Christ Some of the people here are being deluded and we call other clubs deluded !! . Westbrom are bigger than us
Interms of History yes Bolton would be bigger than us They got 4 FA cups ! we dont even have one and we only got a league cup in our history! our fanbase are almost the same as Bolton and both have 28k stadium
Westbrom have been Champions of England,5 times FA cup champions and a league Cup
People are forgeting westbrom used to be a 'top' club in the old days
But yeah West fucking brom are also being deluded if they think they are bigger than Everton and West ham (on their msb) ;D

To be honest, they are.
Face facts, a hell of a lot of clubs in the Football League have won more than us.

But, to be honest, in this sky era, what does that even matter.

Depends over what time scale. Since the 1950s you would have to say the usual ones plus Leeds, Forest, Derby, Bolton and Blackburn. Interesting one whether Newcastle or Sunderland have the greater claim certainly since the 70s. As far as the West Midlands Wolves, Baggies and Brum. Fingers crossed ourselves if we get the right signings

'History' is not just winning trophies. Stoke have been at the centre of the development of the game (countless rules changes followings incidents the club were involved in for example) and we have produced argueably Englands greatest ever footballer (a famous W.Brom player errrr ....Jeff Astle??). So in answer to the question they may have won a couple of trophies back in the ice age but in no way now could they consider themselves a bigger club.

You're a better side, but they have better history. But, to be honest, in this sky era, what does that even matter. That is a pretty fair assessment. I can't even believe there's a conversation to be had anymore. The really big (or at least what now constitutes "big") Premier League clubs are now are The Shit, Arse, Liverpool, Chelsea and Citeh. They are the only clubs in a position to challenge for major honours on a consistent basis, whether folk like it or not. The rest of us are making the numbers up (sad but true) with only occasional cup success and possible European campaigns to have a real crack at. Fortunately we have sampled some of this success but in reality what we have achieved last season is about the best most clubs can hope for now. All this doesn't take away anything from my supporting life as they are simply the harsh realities of the situation and as long as we keep going as we are and gradually improving, I firmly believe 99% of fans will be very happy. Who's the biggest? Dunner give a shit.

Who's the biggest? Dunner give a shit. Excellent post. You ask an American to name 3 players from Stoke/WBA/Wigan and he'd have about as much success if you asked him to name the Macclesfield town physio. Football in England has become a 6 team league. The rest of us are - as you say - just there to make up the numbers. I wish I'd been alive when a team who won the old second division could justly believe they'd be a force in the first division. Here's the take we (wolves fans) had on this question: www.molineuxmix.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?t=62606A mixture of deluded "we'm a big club we'm" and pragmatic/stoic 'whogivesashittism"
