I'll save him the bother.
You limit yourself to a tiny selection of players + are not willing to pay the wages required = problems in recruiting players.
Still, be interesting to hear the spin. No doubt we'll hear about the Coates family.

I'd piss myself if he says " D'ya know what, this transfer window is a bastard, every fucker wants daft money and i have a coach full of useless twats sitting on pound notes every week as it is"
If Carlsberg managed to interview Tone ;D

And here we go.
A group of fans happy with what we've got and a group that aren't, taking pot shots at the recruitment policy.
Triffic.

Sunderland reserves aint done to bad though have they? Indeed, they've done smashing. Role on Bardsley and Malbranque appearing for the Potters come Sept 1st.

Malbranque seems to be off to St Etienne.
I'll be very interested to see what spin Tone puts on his current scouting policy.
I imagine he had more scope in the lower leagues to put the miles in and find the odd gem in the reserves for £10,000.
You can't really do that in the Prem, and you tend to fall back on a certain type if you're old school, and it's all got very predictable.

I love Tone to death but I'm fairly confident we'd have a few winners of "Tone-ism Bingo" tonight. "Better than what we have already" "Coates family" "Right DNA" "Right deal for the club" "Irons in the fire" "Waiting for the apples to fall" "Nah" "Try and get two or three in" "Working aarrd behind the scenes" "Centre halves" "Triffic" Full house!!! God bless you gaffer

How can anyone 'be happy with what we've got' player wise ?
If we go with 'what we've got' into September we are royally fucked

Ill say what I fucking well want if thats OK with you Mr Moderator ? If your comment was in reply to mine, then i'll point out you got the wrong end of the stick. When I said "happy with what we've got" I meant Premier League football, Europe and a Cup final last season - not our current squad. Of course people aren't happy and that starts and ends with the bloke in the dugout. People are quite right to point out that he likes to explore the domestic market, but then again so do the owners of this football club and the people who work at the higher echelons. Peter Coates brought him back knowing this and openly admitted that "he knew his market" when talking about the manager in his second spell aswell as the time he was sacked for failing to exploit the foreign market. At the end of the day he likes British players. You either accept that and, back him and pay the going rate or you don't and you wait until the end of the window. Peter Coates also wanted Martin O'Neill before Pulis - if the reports are correct. He is also the same. I'm not criticising the Chairman, because I think he's been fantastic for us the second time around but you have to be fair and lay the argument out in it's entirety. There is no wool over anyone's eyes here is there? Peter Coates is obviously happy with the situation otherwise Pulis would have been replaced with someone who has a skill of dragging youngsters through the ranks AND/OR using the foreign market to greater effect.
