Enough is Enough, If u like it or not Woodgate is now one of us and lets give him the chance he wants to show it. The guy might actualy read this sites stuff now, So lets not knock all the get up and go out of him before he steps on the pitch, We done that with Matty, and look how he turned out, a Diamond, Lets get behind the guy.

Havn`t heard that much negative stuff about him to be honest, everyone just thinks the same thing - IF he is fit, Woodgate is a class act.

I want him to get fit and get back in form, he's a pretty awesome defender and worth the gamble I think if he could be injury free

He's had enough breaks. That's the problem...

If he does get fit (which I really think he will under TP), there will be a few people eating their words...Let's hope so anyway

as far as i am concerned having another centre back was a must. the fact that woodgate has had his off the field problems and fitness issues obviously these have to be taken into account. personally i feel that its a decent signing based on his experiences and qualities as a player, he may be able to add a bit more control and technique to ryans passing and ball control for instance.
at the end of the day, the bloke wants to play and has signed on a deal where he only gets greater incentives for playing. i cant remember everyone stoke fan being happy with the signing of pennant, a similar player with off the pitch troubles and several injuries in the past, but now he is probably the most popular player with supporters. get behind woodgate and he will be half way there.

If Woodgate could maintain fitness for a period of time then I honestly believe he would partner Huth in the centre and Ryan would be the one sitting out games. Woodgate at his best is one of the best defenders in the Prem, of course that is the big question but pay as you play its a perfect option for him and us.

Goaarrrnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Woody
He'll know himself that if fit, he can be great
Everyone on this board appears to be united in that message, if fit, brilliant.
Players of his ability don't sign for Stoke, unless there is an issue & his is injury
Always get my support, Goaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Woody

My problem with the situation is that he might partner Ryan & we play Huth at right back
better senario is 3 centre backs 5 midfield 2 strikers
more likley 4-5-1

Unbelievably good signing in my view, a real class act.
Think positive as there's no good reason why he shouldn't stay as fit or fitter than he is now and if so we have a gem of a player on our hands.
Well done to stoke for taking the gamble and well done to Woody in coming here when I understand he did have other offers.
Fingers crossed that all goes well for him.

He was a good defender but he is 31 and hasn't played for two years.
Still I'm sure Tony will get him fit and back to top form just like he did with Eidur.
Hopefully this time we will be make a judgement before 1st September when we have to name the 25 man squad.

Admittedly I've not been on the OC that much but woodgate is a cracking upgrade on Faye and I'd be surprised if 90% of stokies were not happy. Really pleased we have got him.

Don't see where the problem is. CLASSY defender of the highest degree with bags of experience in league and Europe which, given the upcoming season could be invaluable. His injuries are a worry but with our staff he will iron them out too. Even if he doesn't he's on a 'Pay as you Play' contract so he won't be emptying the club's pockets. In summary Stoke now have a quality defender on their books and have to fork out very little for his services (if so called upon)
Top Acquisition Tony.

i understand the worry, but i cant see huth being moved to rb, i think woody has be signed so that a rotational policy is in place with extra games to account for now. didnt need him did we, hes nothing compared to faye or collins
