I'd prefer O'Shea.

He'd be good cover at centre half in Europe, and would be a better option than Wilko.
I thought he was close to moving to Sunderland, though?

Wouldn't O'Shea be a better bet?
Brown's 32 in October.
O'Shea's nearly 2 years younger, more versatile, and offers cover at left-back, where we're most in need of full-back cover.
Shotton may as well hand in a transfer request if he comes.
Interesting that they've also got the Dann-Sunderland interest.

Would do well for us at right back

It may be worth trying to flog Sunderland some of our deadwood.

I would rather spend £2 mill on Brown than £12 mill on Dann.Saying that i'm still hoping we sign Ridgewell, who i believe is better than both.

O'Shea is a far better, far more versatile and younger player. Who You would imagine would want to stay in this sort of area. Out of the two, there is only one really sensible option. Brown would be decent but O'Shea would be much better.

I wouldn't turn my nose up at either O'Shea or Brown.
O'Shea would top my list though.

John O'Shea - 6' 3" and covers left-back and cage. Just turned 30. Wes Brown - 6' 0" and covers right-back. 32 in October.
No contest, surely?

Both have had their injuries too but Brown's record is worse as well isn't it?

Both have had their injuries too but Brown's record is worse as well isn't it? I'd say Browns had more injury table time than O'Shea. Brown it is then!

How about sign both play Brown at Right back and O'Shea at Left back. Top quality back four then.

I'd prefer O'Shea too, but have Man United come out and said he's available? He was 1 of the 3 that Sunderland had offers accepted for, wasn't he? And Guardian says he has agreed to join them. But not having to move house would have to give us a shot at tempting him here instead, if we were in for him - as initial reports said he was unsure about uprooting? www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/jun/30/ji-dong-won-sunderland-signing

I have always ranked Wes Brown as a better player and O'Shea as the weak card at Man Utd.
Would be great to get Wes Brown even if it's just for one season.

You Stokies can take Wes Brown, he is finished. I would much rather have O'Shea, who by the way is set to take a medical up here on Monday.

Can't believe anyone would want him, he was pretty wank in his prime, but is now injury prone and absolute dogshit.
