What a lovely day, a great one for some cracking sounds Been banging some 45's on the deck, sly and the family stone and stuff like that. What are your fave funk/soul tunes? These are some of mine.

Partly because he died the other day, and as a result it received a few radio outings, can I mention Gil Scott-Heron and "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised"? It's a seminal track, and amongst its references is one to Rare Earth, one of a very small number of white acts to be attached to Motown.
If you like this music (soul, funk, R&B) Craig Charles is worth a listen on 6Music on Saturday evenings. Too much chat, but some terrific stuff.
