No, not the Monty Python sort of spam! ;D
Like many people I am plagued with spam - surprisingly not on my hotmail account but on my freeserve account which I normally access via Outlook Express. I get up to 50 mails a day offering weight loss, the chance to enlarge one bit of my body way beyond its present impressive proportions etc etc
One of the mails today was from an organisation called "unsubscribeNOW.org" an American site offering to automatically detect spam and automatically unsubscribe from the mailing list. I am dubious about this as I have read that the last thing you should do with spam is to click the unsubscrible link as this only alerts the spamming sites that the email address is actually live.
Any thoughts or advice on this firm or indeed on the best programme to beat spam on outlook express.

Well I've recently upgraded my PC-Cillin Anti-virus to Trend Micros new version Internet Security 11 and I've gotta say I'm well impressed with it. It also automatically updates itself so you don't have worry bout new virus or spam relay servers. Ok so you have pay some wonga for it however it provides Antivirus (Email and general file scanning), Firewall, URL filtering (if you've got kids stop'em looking for porn!) and Spam protection. The Spam protector basically filters the incoming mail based on the senders and mail relay address and marks them as spam, you can use a rule filter to automatically put marked files into the Deleted folder. Set Outlook to automatically empty Deleted folder on exit. Jobs a good'un! If you wanna have a look at it goto www.antivirus.com

it never a popular opinion but consider dumping that freebie hotmail address for buying a domain name with POP3 mailboxes. www.123reg.co.ukwill charge you 9quid for 2 years and you'll avoid most of the crap you get on hotmail, yahoo or any of the other free services. Widget.
