My family know that I'm not at my best after a defeat. I think I sink into an even more grumpy mode than normal.

I'm off work next Monday, I've got the house to myself and I'm finally going to sit down and watch the recording of the cup final. In a strange way I'm looking forward to it!

i did exactly the same with the final. taped the lot of espn and then deleted the whole fucking lot because i knew i would never be able to bring myself to watch any of it. still got the arsenal and bolton games on my virgin box though they cheer me up a bit when im down. normal saturdays don't bother me when we get beat i just get back in stoke and carry on drinking and have a laugh. however its an entirely different ball game sunday morning. i usually don't watch another game of football on the t.v all weekend i don't bother reading my programme and i usually have a big childish strop on all monday and will not read papers listen to radio and all that, usually all forgotten about by tuesday,by wednesday I've retrieved my prog and oatcake off my bedroom floor to read and I'm as optimistic as anything again and looking forward to the next game. my golden rule with being a miserable fucker is don't take it out on friends and family's and reserve all your spite and venom for the cunters at work who follow shit like arse and manure from the comfort of the local pub.

If we lose when we should have got at least a point, I am usually depressed for a day. Eg, man united at home.

Very much so, quite often a bad result will put me in a foul mood for the entire week until our next match has come around. Lakeland Potter will vouch for my moods on the journeys home if we've had a bad result. ;D I'm not moody whenever we lose any game, if we've played well but things just haven't fallen for us then I'm disappointed but try to see the positives. We didn't play well in the FA Cup Final, but I actually got over that defeat far quicker and far easier than our home defeats to Blackpool and Fulham for example. Even though the FA Cup Final was the biggest occasion in the clubs history, I think most of our fans were just swelling with pride at Full-time even though we lost the game. Most sympathized that injuries to key players cost us at the wrong time and we didn't have the depth in the squad to match Man City.

Very much so too. I'm not as bad as I used to be though, since the daughter being born. I have calmed down since then cos I don't want her growing up seeing a grumpy old man as a father; and supporting Stoke, that could easily happen I did kick off massively over a small thing at work the day after losing 7-0 at Chel$ea, and it was solely due to my mood from the result.

Defo puts a dampner on the week until the next match comes around.
I am much chirpier and bright when we have won.

I am a miserable old git anyway so no one notices, but inside I am really hurting when we lose. But it is not as bad as summer, with no football, I would rather have losing football, than non at all.
