Silly, silly lad. You'd think the prospect of his first day at a new job (even if he was coming back from injury) would have meant he would have driven over the night before and given clubs a miss for that night - or am I just getting old ???

i read this in the paper today and the first thing i thought was why?? this lad had everything going for him. feel for his family now they are the ones who've lost the most

Much of the stuff you read in the papers is to hype the story up into a bigger story than it actually is.
In reality this guy would of been released by ManUre at the end of his contract and been signed by a Nationwide club. He did not have the footballing world at this feet like Wayne Rooney has.
Don't get me wrong, this is a sad loss, but there could be plenty of reason why he did this. Also, let's remember, being twice over the limit doesn't mean he was neccesarily drunk.
