went two years ago. Gorgeous place. Small , quiet but enough places to eat and drink. see if you can find a restaurant called the secret garden, near the back of the town, lovely proper turkish food (great stews). if you want lively then take a dolmus to Hisonarou, more bars and a funny drag show. Go see the ghost village at night and eat in the restaurant there, only a few miles away.
Its a great place to chill and you dont get pestered like you do in the bigger cities.

I went there years ago with a previous girlfriend who was a hospitality hostess I didn't get any bother although they did look. The one thing i remember is nearly getting into some bother in a bus station whilst moving down the coast. 12 noon, over 100F and all the Dolmus drivers were trying to get us on their bus. I was carrying all our bags and the drivers took the bags off me (very helpful) but then put them on different buses, all going to different places. I stood in the middle of the bus station and in true Bit style yelled at 30/40 of them all in English "Right, I've had f***ing enough now, get me those bags before I lose me temper" You'll have a great time

Went last year, in July, it's really fucking hot, like REALLY. We went all inclusive, the food at night where we stayed was a bit repetitive and fairly wank, food poisoning one night I'm sure it was. But the food outside was awesome, the proper kebabs are like heaven.
Hisarnou is just up the hill, which is a great place and pretty big.
We used to go to shadows bar a lot, I met this girl where we were staying, so we'd stop out till 5 am sometimes. I've never seen such strange blokes before in my life, as in that shadows bar, they were like bees around homey with this girl.
There is also loads of wasps, which don't generally sting ya, but they are massive bastards, I could see them grinning at me.
It's an awesome place but if I go again I just wouldnt go all inclusive, they treated us more like cattle at feeding time. We just went out every night instead.

Some people on here have obviously never been to North Africa if they think Turkeys bad for people pestering you.
I go to Turkey every year on holiday and never have any hassle because i go to where Turkish people go on holiday.
If you stick to the smaller places it's not bad. If you go to a large city full of tourists then what do you expect.

I’ve been to north Africa too and I got my money back, they might be worse than the Turks but that’s like saying you’d sooner have syphilis than gonorrhoea. Gouranga.

just come back from Hisaronu - 5th year on the trot and love it!
recommend Swallows restaurant, Toscanos in Oludeniz. Costellos, Kafkans in Hisonaru. must do are Levissi in the Ghost town, the Fish market and Kings Garden in Fethiye! Leviss and Kings Arms will fetch you and bring you back free!
go just along the coast minutes walk from Oludeniz to Sugar beach for a great chill out complex.
you will get alittle bit of hassel here and there but you handle it bby saying no thanks.
food prices are very reasonable and Efes beer is between 4 and 5 lira this time depending where you go. A bottle of house red wine averages 35 lira.
exchange rate there is around 2.5 lira to the £.
you'll have a great time!

Got back last night!
What a cracking holiday. No Turks tried to fuck my Mrs & no hassle from shop owners.
Went parachuting from 6,000 ft in Olu Deniz which was good. I would of enjoyed it a whole lot more if I hadn't thrown up halfway down!!! ;D
The lamb kebabs on the beach front in Olu Deniz were amazing! Temperature was well into upper 30's! Lots of Turks shouting Tuncay at me with me Stoke top on. Top holiday

Sorry I did not see your post until you got back home - we've been living here next to Oludeniz for nearly 2 years now after I took redundancy. Glad you enjoyed it - the last bit of the trip up the mountain and the take off strip for paragliding are a bit nervey If you decide to come again drop me a note and we can have an Efes or 2. Cheers
