Is the £50k a year thing actually true? I believe he is paid, but didn't he give up a much higher wage from his previous job. He is also past retirement age and is not in the best of health. He would readily give up the post if it was in the best interests of the club. Not sure he was on big money March he is only an insurance sales man.

Such as... That other guy who used to be a Stoke fan was just as dodgy as Mo if not more so. I think there is some truth that Bratty enjoys the trappings of the power and glamour of it all sadly, but I think they'd be far worse off under Mo, He did look dodgy but there have been a few others too but they all get turned away. Maybe so but at least they have a bit of money. Bratt is clinging on to power by the skin of his teeth. Without his own shares he wouldn't be a director at Vale now. He's said he will quit numerous times for new blood, never has done. He just comes across to me as a bumbling old fool when it comes to business and the Vale. And I know he seems a lovely bloke but his time must be at an end. The stories of incompetence You read on OVF make Scholes look like Richard Branston. ;D The only ones who seemed to have any money were the Americans, don't know what happened there. The Stoke fan bloke was a jester who was going to put something like 200k into the club over a spell of 6 months or something and seemed to think that kind of pathetic offer should get him some kind of control. Mo is in this for Mo. He doesn't care about Vale.

Personally if I was Bratt and I was getting the level of abuse he is after he helped to save the club, I'd be tempted to flog it to the first conman who came along.
I hope Mo does buy the club and thoroughly fucks them over, and we'll see where the black and gold mob is then.

Which is a shame because Bratt does seem like such a nice bloke. But his time to go is long gone by a couple of years.

Just to answer a few queries with one post
1) Bill Bratt is a thoroughly decent man with the interests of Port Vale at heart.
2) He is not a 'bumbling fool'
3) He gives up his time voluntarily for other things in the local community
4) He should have retired by his age and health.
5) He is not making a fortune out of Vale.

Agreed Bill was there everyday trying to finish that stand single handedly, laying concrete and basically it took over his life. He was advised after his operation to take it easy but went back to Vale and had a relapse and is lucky to be still walking.

March-
1) If that was the case I think he would have sold it already
2) It's what he comes across as
3) That's great, no one doesn't think he isn't a lovely bloke
4) He should have.
5) Who knows what he has made but if that's true of the 30k in and then the 50k out (which is true) each year then it's a tidy profit surely?

Not when you give up your day job which was earning you more money. The question you need to ask yourself bayern is, 'why is an elderly man in poor health who has his local community at heart refusing to sell up and leave'? Greed and status are not factors.

Still it's 50k a year which is not to be sniffed at! I think it's the power trip because like You say it makes no sense. Like I said I think if he wanted to do right by Vale he would have resigned as chairman/CEO 2 years ago.

I don't think I am. I genuinely belive Vale fans are stuck between a rock and a hard place. On one hand You have a board who have been pretty shite for the Vale for the past 3/4 years and who come across as eejits. And then on the other You Mo Chaudry who I wouldn't trust as far as I can throw him.
But Bratt has had chances to sell to other people and hasn't. I really can't feel sorry for the bloke. I know You're mates with him but from a neutral stand point that's how it looks to me.

Perhaps Bill should just walk away and leave Vale to their own devices.

Maybe he has but I'm judging him on his own words and actions. And they and they alone make him come across as a bumbling fool. He might not be but that is the perception I get from what he has said and done there.
He probably should do but I don't think his personal pride will allow him to see Chaudry in charge at the Vale. Admin can't be far away surely?

With the amount of abuse Bratt and his family have recieved he should walk away from the vale and let Choudry take over at the vale and sit back and see what happens.
It makes no sence that someone should risk their health and perhaps life for a football club.

A quick look on OVF today reveals Micky Adams is to become a Vale director, meaning the club can negotiate players contracts etc. However some on OVF dont see it that way and feel he has betrayed the fans and now want him out.
This soap (or lack of soap) opera down the Vale is likely to run and run all summer. As someone who had it rammed down my throat when they were above us a few years ago it gives me nothing but a right good laugh to see whats happening down there at the moment! ;D

i have it from a source in and around that Mo wants to tske a controlling share and buy the ground, he'll then rent it back to them for 500k year. If they go bust he keeps the ground as it won't be owned by the club. Sounds like a sound deal to me.
Long live sir Mo.

Mark. When i lived with my parents in the 1990's both sets of neighbours were Vale fans. Dont get me wrong they were good people but the stick i got was unreal at times. Especially as one of my neighbours had 6 Vale fans in the same house. Lets all laugh at the Vale! ;D

I've wrote on here many times about the spite and venom that was spat at us not only from Vale fans but also the local media, they took every opportunity to stick the knife into us.
Remember Les Scott ans his daily sniping at us? well I do and I will never forget it.
I only wish upon to Port Vale what they have wished upon us. No more, no less.
