Is it me or does Kenwyn have the touch of Kyle about him when he tries to control the long ball on his chest. Everytime it hits him it ends up 10 foot away from him a la Kyle. Admittedly he is better in the heading department but sometimes his initial control reminds me of those dark days

In those dark days we had that beacon of light called Peter Thorne who made all those bad bad Kyle moments disappear. Sadly Kenwyn doesn't have such a prolific foil to match that of the great Thorney.

In the last 10 league games or so the performances of Huth, Walters, Whelan, Pennant and in particular Jones being our only real target man left standing, ensured that we reached a cup final and relative safety well before the end of the season. After the West Ham away game this was far from certain, and those five in particular deserve tremendous credit.
Some people talk nonsense and im afraid you've added to that long list on this board.

Actually yesterday Jones did indeed chest it down 10 feet away most of the time, except once when Whelan was 10 foot away, the ball off Jones's chest landed 5 foot away and neither of them got it.

Jeepers fella keep yer wig on. I was only making an honest observation. I never said anything to undermine our recent great run to the cup final or league safety. It was based on yesterday and it reminded me of kyle's inability to bring the high ball under control within a ten foot radius. There maybe people on the board who talk nonsense but their opinion counts as much as yours or mine.

I agree Kenwyne's 1st touch is poor for somebody who is on the equivalent of 60 grand a week (after all his golden "payouts"). That's not to say I don't rate him, but it is something that should be looked at to improve in pre-season. I also think Nigel Gleghorn said similar lines on the radio yesterday?

It's just me then that thinks his touch is pretty amazing for a bloke consistently fouled when ever the ball goes in the air.
