It was a major achievement to get to Wembley I'm all for being analytical and honest about our performances, but today we should simply celebrate the fact that we made it to a FA Cup Final after 140 years!!!
Better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all!

Criticism?
There should be none given our achievements this season.

Just got back (staying in North London) The team did not play to its full potential (Etherington did not look at all fit) but the support was FANTASTIC. We outsang them from Wembley Way - never mind the start of the game. Only when they scored did we hear anything from the Blue end The supporters were absolutely fantastic today - I bet Wembley has never seen anything like it - especially from the team that lost! Criticism? There should be none given our achievements this season. Hit the nail on the head for me - I think too many people are soon forgetting this, just because we've lost an FA cup final in which we certainly not just walked over. Its one game in what has been a terrific season.

This season we have reached an FA Cup final - our first ever; possible 8th place league finish (be interesting to see who wins on Tue night and who plays); strengthened our team (although we need a deeper squad next season) and Europa League football next season

A pity KJ didn't put away his big chance in the second half, but that's not criticism just a reflection. The boys have done very well this season! ;D

I find it incredible that some puddled ex Vale fans on here dare criticise the lads today. Yes we were outplayed but we contained a decent side for 75 minutes and looked threatening. Anyone thinking of having a go consider this Man City pay their top mercenaries 220k a week. 10 times supposedly what we pay. We played with more heart and pride today than they'll ever have. This isn't a 'project'. We are Stoke. Now shut the f& k up get the factor 50 in cause Europe awaits.

The title of this thread is still important
OK, we did not play as well as we could have, and one could ask questions of one or two players
But that is not the point
At this stage, we should be celebrating the fact that, not only did we reach Wembley, but we were only narrowly beaten by a team that cost more than ten times ours to assemble
Indeed, if criticism is in order, it should be of Manchester City - how can a team which was assembled from limitless resources have only finished fourth in the Premiership?
As I said in my earlier post, when it comes to the fans there is no comparison - we outsang them at every opportunity. Stoke fans were truly amazing today
