Really needed our 1st eleven on top form/fitness. Still, hardly an embarrassment, they're just a step above us.

We never turned up unfortunately but can be proud of the players to get this far just a shame we didn't give a proper account of ourselves.

We need to invest in a midfield in the off season... that's all... our lack of talent there is showing as injuries show...

Both ourselves and Manchester City played several levels below their capabilities, Man City are just a bit better than us that's all. It's not like we were thrashed.

Too much at stake for a classic - as are most finals - we have done magnificent to do so well this season with such a relatively small squad - shame no Fuller or 100% Etherington - still proud though

The better team won. Ether's wasn't right, Huth dodgy, maybe that played on the minds of the other players?! But, bearing in mind their players v our players (value, experience etc) we did great!
what was the right date for this fixture? Maybe another 7/14 days could've benefitted our team.
Any road round, well done Manchester City. Well done Stoke City, Tony Pulis, and the whole squad.
WE'RE PROUD OF YOU

take any of our 1st eleven out for whatever reason, and we're stuffed. we need quality in depth, PC needs to spend a few million in the close season

Te sides were nowhere near level IMO and but for a truly world class moment from Tommy they would have won by more. We were very very poor, unfortunately after playing so well in the semi but we were totally oversees by the occasion.

Looks like the recent fixture list and injuries have taken their toll on our lads. Every one of them still put their whole hearts into the game, but legs and bodies couldn't do it. Still immensely proud of our club and city, we took them to the whole 90mins. 1-0 isn't a crushing defeat, we've done brilliantly. Gooo arrrrn Stoke.

Our squad strength/depth was exposed today, we'll put that right over the summer i'm sure.

Fatigue, thin squad, huth and ethers injuries plus a few knocks meant we didn't turn up today. Still a great season though. Money won at the end of the day.

Money won at the end of the day. .... we have 2 games to go and TP wants to finish in the top 10 and have more points than last year. We have a full house at the Brit next Sunday and I don't want to see them turn up in flip flops (even Abdy!) The best team won today - we were never in it really .... sad but true. Last year we were 11th with 47 points. We're now 8th with 46. Another 3 (or 4) points please ..... goarrn Stoke.

We said the same, Dave.
Key players out and others carrying knocks and we couldn't cope with it.
No complaints about the result and thanks to TP and the lads for the season we've had.

There are people on here saying "we didn't turn up blah blah blah". Bollocks we played magnificently considering the injuries to key players. Every Stoke player was man of the match imo. Its not a bridge too far as some are suggesting, given fewer injuries and EUFA not insisting on 2 weeks clear before Champions final meaning the FA cup would have been 2 weeks later then it could have been different. Onward and upward Stoke City FC.

When you consider that Citeh have spent upwards of £350 million to gather their team together I think we did very very well. As has already been said Ethers wasn't in anyway fit, but they were just too good for us on the day.
The summer transfer window should be very promising for us with Tone and PC planning for our European adventures.
I'm very disappointed that we didn't win today, but we've had a great season, and we can hopefully look forward to a good time next year as well. We do need to try to improve our away form, and cut down on the number of defeats in the Prem.
Still very proud of our team, and wonderful fans !!
Gooooaaaaaaarrrrrrnnnnnnn Stoke !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Yes I agree id, especially with the injuries we picked up on the run in.
Most telling when we were 1-0 down late on and our best option to turn around the situation was sending on Danny Pugh.

Our bench was pretty dreadful on paper with the exception of carew none of them could score a goal. We needto invest in good players that give us the option of a good squad rather than just a good first 11.

Just got back (staying in North London) The team did not play to its full potential (Etherington did not look at all fit) but the support was FANTASTIC. We outsang them from Wembley Way - never mind the start of the game. Only when they scored did we hear anything from the Blue end The supporters were absolutely fantastic today - I bet Wembley has never seen anything like it - especially from the team that lost!
