OK a lot of Stoke fans will hate me for saying this but can we not follow Brazil's lead of offering £10 tickets for this game?
I bought my (4) Bristol tickets a couple of weeks ago so I have no selfish reasons for wanting ticket prices slashed.
This offer would apply to the Bristol match ONLY
And I know people willl say that it rewards the fickle and punishes the loyal and I couldn't agree more
But we all need to ask ourselves the question;
Do we want under 20'000 for the Bristol game or do we want a near sell-out?
We have 3 MASSIVE games left we have got to do everything we can to help this club into The Prem
So I beg the Club to slash prices for this game and fill the Brit
Then on saturday we can have a dress-rehearsal for the Leicester game
GOAARRRNNNN STOKE

If you are a fan regardless of your stance on manager team anything you have to be at this match regardless of the price.

Couldn't agree more. I've already bought my tickets but they could let 'em in for free for all I care. Just so long as we fill the stadium and roar the lads on to victory is all that matters.

It's a good argument, but the club have been brilliant with their ticket offers this season. Buy one, get one free etc. We're in a great position. If people don't want to go when we're top of the league then there's not much more you can do!

Peter coates has already made alot of matches dirt cheap or even free at different times of the season! Its time to see if stoke city do have over 20,000 supporters out there who will come to the brit and pay there money! Coates has put his money where his mouth is so its time for stoke fans to do the same!!

Sidders. In theory that is right. We all know though that the pubs within a mile of the ground will be packed to the rafters instead of the stadium. Them same people in the pubs though will be the first on here moaning if we lose!

bit of a sheltered view sidders. sportsman is dead right. i went out in dresden last night and didnt speak to anyone planning to go to the match. they are all planning on saving their £20 and staying in the pubs. i think that the club really really need to do something about the 6 or 7 thousand tickets that will remain unsold for saturday.

Just exactly why is it shelterd? Have the club not given enough offers this season. I personally think the same as OS I don't care if they open the doors for free but remember Coates has backed the club and all we can go on about is reduce the match cost so we can get a few people in who would rather spend the money in the pub

maybe next season if we got promoted, we can reduce nearly all games to £10, what with extended highlights on MOTD and 5 or 6 games on sky ???
or maybe there will be a few richer people next year that manage to find £30 for most games ???

if we can't get a full house at full price there is something going wrong , wasn't the Man City game a full house at full price and on the telly ?

If anyone can't afford to go to the game on Saturday fair play, but if there is anyone that would rather spend £20 in the pub than cheer "their" team into the Premiership fuck em. I'm sick to death of lame excuses for people not going to the game. If all we can get is 15,000 through the gate then so be it.

Totally agree sidders, 3,000 Stokies out sang 17,000 Coventry yesterday. 15,000 Stokies will be heard all the way to Bristol when Fuller nets the winner on Saturday.

Some good points and we SHOULD be able to pack the Bit out for Bristol BUT we all know that we won't...which shows how poor our support really is...thats why I think its a good idea to virtually give 6'000 tickets away...rather than have big blocks of red seats empty
Very sad but true

If the supporters can't be arsed to support the team in this position then I'd prefer 16 000 committed fans in the ground roaring the team to victory.
markscfc71 has it bang on the money.

The Man City game wasn't a full-house Ilford..there was just over 26,000 and half of them were from Manchest-oh..we were knee-deep in Mancs in the JSL...and if you were there you would know that they were all over the place..in every stand

Not for long in the Sentinel though I will behold the site of them fleeing all over the place when they came and thought they could take the piss.

If we were stuck in mid table playing out an end of season game Fielding a side of free transfers and bargain basement signings I would agree to do a deal for this game but FFS we are 3 games away from gaining a place in the best league in the world! If we can only get 15,000 people through the door so be it. If or more to the point WHEN we get promoted will these same people that won't turn up on Saturday moan about the ticket prices because they haven't brought a season ticket before the dead line? We have the cheapest tickets in the league, what more do we want.

Post by Tubes on Apr 13, 2008 18:42:41 GMT
how about some sort of deal, if you keep your ticket stub from the game, you can have £5 off the price of a prem match next season?
Still don't think we should need it, anyone who watches this match in a pub in Stoke on trent simply cannot call themselves a Stoke supporter. If it was my choice pubs in Stoke would be banned from screening the match ;D

I am not being funny here, but if people cannot be arsed to get down the Brit on Saturday night, for anything other than cheap tickets, then I would rather them not turn up at all.
There really is no excuse. If you love Stoke City, you will be there. Finances are no excuse for sitting in the pub watching the game.
Get down the ground and roar the team on. If we win, and you are there, you will get a bigger buzz from that than you possibly could by getting drunk and watching it in the pub.
Mr Coates has done everything within his power to ensure that we are in this position, both in terms of backing his manager with funds, and trying to make Stoke City an affordable and appealing prospect.
He has done his bit, the players have done theirs (despite faltering these last few weeks) and now we have to do our bit.
Get down to the game and roar the team home! It is much better to moan at fucking Cresswell and Pugh whilst at the game anyway! ;D

No-one can deny that Peter Coates has "dug-deep" and that our Club, for once, has shown some ambition.
It would be great if the supporters recognised this and we sold out the last 2 home games
Unfortunately, it isn't going to happen, so the question is; Do we slash ticket-prices like WBA (who had nearly 27,000 yesterday) or do nothing and have under 20,000 for the Bristol game?
In my opinion we should concentrate on filling the ground
One more thing, there is a massive difference between vocal-support for Stoke away and vocal-support at home Away, we are magnificent but at home the atmosphere is dead What worries me is that with 7 or 8,000 empty seats on Saturday we get off to a bad start and the Bristol fans drown us out This transfers itself to the pitch and we are in trouble
Call me pessimistic but I'm just trying to cover all the angles...and I think that blocks of empty seats play into Bristols hands not ours...
