This has been done before i know but it is always good to revive this thread.Loads of feel good feeling after today and reading other fans favourites always makes for interesting reading. The mental today after Liam's winner was superb. Top 3 all time Stoke mentals, 3=Steino's at Fail Park 93 2=Tony Kelly's last minute equaliser at Anfield 1=Paul Richardson at Meadow Lane in 79.

I always remember one in the mid 70's. Stoke needed a win against struggling Leicester and Man City to fail to win in a tricky game at St. James Park for us to go top of the old Div 1.
Even better news was that Leicester's stalwart keeper (Wallington) was injured and a teenager by the name of Jay was thrown in at the last minute.
The news sounded favourable from Newcastle but no matter what Stoke threw at Leicester this young keeper denied us. Frustration, frustration.
3 minutes from time substitute Ian Moores crossed from the right and DENIS SMITH dived to power in a glorious header and I was lost for several minutes under a seething mass of Potteries humanity.
This is a 2 for 1 mental scenario as then the entire crowd stayed on (No South Car Park issues in those days) to hear the announcement from St. James to cofirm we were TOP of the lot!!!
The Sunday People reported that the roar was so loud at this point that every ceramic in the Potteries was in danger of cracking.
Happy Days!

This thread needs splitting into before and after all seater stadiums mentals, you just can't compare the two. Before all seater: Steino against the Vale Gleghorn against Plymouth Steino against West Brom
After all seater Beast against West Brom Lawrence against Coventry Fuller against Wolves.
James O'Connor's goal against Bardiff in the play offs comes under best mental watching a big screen ;D

Another more personal one -
Does anyone remember when Steino scored twice in the last 2 minutes at the Stoke End to turn a 1-0 reverse into victory against Orient.
I think most best mentals are scored at "your" end but this was definitely an exception.
