Ok, this is selfish but what the heck..... Followed Stoke for the best part of 35 years. For the last 20 or so years I've lived down south (for work). Spent many, many years, going to pretty much every Saturday game - even when living down in Poole (227 miles each way. And yes you do count every single mile). Have followed Stoke through the shitty times to shitty places (Grimsby, Chester, Stockport, Lincoln, etc.). Was a season ticket holder for the best part of 25 years (and most of the time living down 'sarf'). Remember doing Poole to Sunderland, standing on the terrace in the rain at Roker Park, and seeing us lose to a 91st minute goal (and missing most of a family reunion). When I got back, I just thought "heh, that's what supporting Stoke is about". Had to give up the season ticket a few years back - 3 kids and a Mrs now. Hence little chance of a ticket for the final. Went on Sunday (thanks Dad for queuing for me) and I'll never forget one of the truly great days for SCFC. But now, as I guess I've got little chance of a ticket, I'll just have to watch OUR day on TV. For all the joy it is tempered with sadness for me.

What do you want, a medal?
Weather you've followed stoke from stoke or poole, if you are there, you are there.
Im sorry, maybe you are being genuine, but this post reeks of feel sorry for me shite i can't be arsed with. If you aint got a season ticket, you miss out, simple as that. I bought a season ticket last season and missed a load of payments, due to things thsat happened, which made me blacklisted. But do you think i'll give a shite about that whilst i'm at the final? No chance.

Blame the F.A. for the shoddy ticket distribution. Too right. My sister thought she may be able to get me a ticket from somebody who'll get a ticket from the Hertfordshire FA. Say's it all really.

I followed Stoke 'cos I'm a Stokie (and not someone who's going to turn my back if the shitty times come back). My point is: like many of us, I love Stoke (for christ sake, my kids who are born and brought up in darkest Hampshire love the club), and unlike perhaps some, will continue to support Stoke until I'm 6 feet under irregardless of what division we end up in), in our moment of glory, are denied a chance to be there - for whatever reason.

Would love to go to a "Stokie" pub, but I don't think the kids would be able to drive the car home after I'd had a few bevies. PS. Where about in Bridport are you, went camping there last summer and could return this year - so would pop in!

Maybe it's wrong, maybe it's right, but that's just the wsay it is owd.

If he aint got a ST, he'll struggle for a ticket. Most have accepted this, but some feel the need to come on here and state their case, since they've been going for years. What othjer "loyalty"solution is there? Give everyone who went in 72 a ticket and discard those who saw Lightbourne's cracker against Gillingham? As for the EDL mate, trying to distance myself from it now. Although they have a valid point in what they are saying, in my opinion of course, the organisation itself has become a bit of as joke to me, and until it gets it's in-house sorted, I won't be attending another demo.

ffs... how many more of these "woe is me, i went to rochdale away" posts do we have to endure.
grow a pair and do what the rest of us are doing and find alternate sources, because with 40 odd thousand tickets available outside club allocation for a non "popular" final theres going to be a fair whack on the open market.
"oh i cant afford it" i hear you bleat.... yes you can ... cancel sky, stop drinking/smoking, cancel your holiday etc...
posts like this are half the problem with the uk

And probably another 30,000 fans who at one time or another over the past 60years can say "I followed them through thick and thin, till I stopped" for whatever reason, hopefully all aren't going to write their sob stories on here about why they are so deserving of a cup final ticket or we'll all be bored shitless

Blame the F.A. for the shoddy ticket distribution. This is the reality If the ticket allocation was say 45% to each club and 10% for assorted sponsors, FA buddies etc then we'd all get a ticket Sorry for you UKC Stokie, but it's the FA's fault

Look, I've got the perfect solution to all this. Instead of allocating tickets as for the semi-final, the club should get in touch with every stokie on their ticket database. They will then invite them in for a one-to-one interview with a board consisting of Tony Scholes, Gordon Banks and Vince Overson.
You will then be given 5 minutes to stake your case for a ticket. You will need to provide proof of earnings as well as any savings or investments you may have.
The role of the 3 interviewees is as follows:
Tony Scholes will listen out for how many times you refer to money spent in the past, in particular his super-computer brain will be adding up the total amount spent and working out potential future income for the club.
Gordon Banks will sit with a click-counter and every time you mention a players name from the past he will click it. Obvously more obscure names such as David Xausa will score more highly while relatively newer ones, Paul Gallagher for example, will score less. Vince is there to mop your tears up with a hanky.
At the end of the process you will be given a combined score based on your credit score, past history and hanky dampness.
The person with the highest score will get first pick of tickets while anybody who has an "Oatcake Joined Date" of April 2011 will be at the back of the queue.
Simple, everbody's happy.

Maybe we should get Admin to post a sob-story thread or sub-board, then people can tantalisingly come on and say "Hmm I like your story I may give you my ticket" only to say a few days later they won't.
If I've got the money I'll find a way to go there, if not I won't simple as really. I'll miss out on it and it'll be annoying to do so, but at the same time got to remember I have chosen to do other things recently which cost a fair bit not having expected Stoke to get here.

To be fair I didnt see anything in the original post complaining that season ticket holders will get tickets as most agree theres little anyone can do so it's completely uneccesary to slate the guy for saying he'll be missing out on the final.he wasnt moaning at those who will get tickets just explaining why he's gutted which is fair enough but as usual cocks on here have a knee jerk reaction without listening to someones point properly because all they want to do is criticise and slag people and THAT is really half the problem in the uk at the moment!
