.....to that of Wembley , and therefore encourage more 5 - 0 wins. We've never won by this margin before , so it must make perfect sense.!

In all seriousness, seeing as we are relying less and less on the long throw, and more and more on playing proper wingers, it may be an idea to widen the pitch slightly.

I bet Penant & Etherington would be in favour..
Do we still have the smallest playing surface area , or has that title now gone to Wolves or Blackpool...can't remember.

How much bigger is the Wembley pitch? It didn't look that much wider to me but it did look much longer.

depends which source you believe
on wiki its a whole 3 meters wider
but if you convert the footballgroundguide dimensions to the same (ones in yards the other in meters) they are actually the same size

lets see if Man C take us to the cleaners on it 1st. Actually I think its over-rated,the pitch size thing,Wembley is only 2.5 mtrs wider each side than the Brit.Rory has no trouble throwing an extra 8 feet with a decent run up Our wingers might get more space to run into but so might the oppostion......and I wonder if that's a risk too far for Pulis

We smashed Newcastle 4-0 at home. Beat Bolton 5-0 at Wembley.
I see no need to change the pitch length at all, not unless we're going to improve it by getting a better quality of full back in at the club and by having someone who can step up to the mark set by Rory.

Inverness Stokie....:Does the fact that we won 5-0 away from home (at Wembley) have no bearing on your rationale.. . It could be just luck I suppose... ;D

I've seen the goals numerous times and have listened to it about 8 times since Sunday and still cannot believe it! If it was luck I want some more on the 14th May.

I think if we did qualify for Europa cup we would have to increase the size of the pitch. For club competitions Uefa have adopted the FIFA international standard size pitch of 105mx68m - same as Wembley etc. Ours is currently 100x64, the minimum allowed.

I thought kenwyne suited a bigger pitch more than ethers and pennant. He was able to get the ball to his feet more and gave himself a bit more time on the ball he didnt look quite so awkward.
