A minibus of Everton fans turned up on their way home from the early kick off with Wolves.
Apparently those in the Cherry Tree didn't take too kindly to their singing.

I went there today after work about 4.45 and saw a white coach parked up on the side of the road, it was Everton and stopped off there for the intenesion of causing trouble from what i heard " doesnt look very Stokey this pub? "
About 5pm it went off big time, when word must of got around to the older Stoke lads in the area, as about 20/30 older lads/men ( Stoke ) come charging up from the subways by the sunken roundabout, and basically just went nuts, fighting in the road, basically they had the same treatment they got up Merseyside last season when Stoke took the piss up there.

Nothing wrong with the Cherry Tree if you want some cheap, decent grub and cheap beer. It is what it is and doesn't pretend otherwise!
Probably the best place in Castle full-stop actually.

yesterday. Anybody else in the beer garden when it kicked off as they were leaving? they started mouthing off as they were heading back down the a34 to the coach, so one stoke lad jumped down onto the road on his own, ended up leaving one of their faces pouring with blood . All of their lot ran at the one stoke lad so more stokies jumped down, then the police turned up and handled it very well i thought - no arrests, just split the 2 groups apart (with pepper spray helping!) and got their lot back onto the coach while they waited for that lad to get ambulance treatment. Though there was a stand off for around 5-10 minutes where they were lobbing stones from the shrubbery in the middle of the a34 into the beer garden at the stokies who were returning the favour by throwing pint glasses. Eventful afternoon! Sorry if posted before by the way, i did do a search and found no results
