Not sure how serious, but this must have happened over 2 years ago.
He went there of his own free will...not as if cisse pinned him against a wall and was firing balls at him!
I really hate the blame culture!

I would say a 5 - 0 thrashing from Man city would have hurt more.

If the fan succeeds (and I hope he doesn't) then this might open the way for claims for any fan knocked out whilst attenting a first team match. After all, if the club are held liable for injuries at a training ground then there isn't much difference in principle if the same injury were to occur at a match. As Aldershot Stokie says, the blame culture which is creeping into the UK is a bit worrying. Perhaps Sunderland would have been better to offer some compensation on an ex gratia basis without admitting liability - but I suppose that would be seen as an invitation for even more claims?

Surely if a person put's themselves in that predicament then the duty of care to them is diminished slightly given that balls will be flying everywhere He should count himself lucky he wasn't 12 yards from Rory when he was practicisng his throws

I choked on a Mars bar during the Cardiff FA cup home game and it really hurt.
Should I sue Stoke?

The compensation culture has a lot to answer for. If this case is successful for the Sunderland "fan" (some fan suing his/her own club) thne the next thing will be that clubs refuse to let supporters into training sessions on grounds of 'elf and safety. Nowt to do with that at all (as are a lot of these claims supposedly relating to 'elf and safety) all to do with the chance to earn a quick quid.

sad bastard, i bet he attends training sessions with his harry potter thermos flask and butty box. what ever the out come i would repay him in kind with a life time ban for being such a twat. to sue your own club is about as low as you can sink. this sad anorak deserves to be lynched of by his own fans for daring to call himself a sunderland fan in my books.

i did karate kick a fellow supporter in the head at cardiff when stoke scored the 94th min winner, should i sue for hurting my foot. to be fair the man shook my hand and carried on going MENTAL! i also split my leg open at leicester by jumping about 3 rows and landing into the back of a seat.
i see multiple claims coming!

Does anybody remember the incident at the Vic in 60s when Big John Ritchie whacked the ball into Butler St Paddock and laid a yound lad out. All cleared up when John visited the injured lad in City General Hospital. Lad got to meet his hero, Stoke got some good PR media coverage and everone was happy.
