If ever there was a 'top four' ref Peter Walton is top of the list. That was one of the most biased performances I've ever seen. Our wingers got lumps kicked out of them yet again and only shows one yellow card? Walters goes in a 50 - 50 challenge and gets booked! Pathetic refereeing. Also the Linesman in the first half (whoever he is ) needs know the offside rulel. Absolute wankers.

Could hear the rimming from row 8. Very poor decisions.

I actually have no idea why John Walters was booked, was it because no one is allowed to kick the ball against the Englands captains shin or something, totally baffling.

Is Walton incompetent or corrupt? It is one or the other. I just think there are certain Refs like Walters who are frightened about giving decisions against top four clubs. They fear the backlash from Fergerson, Wenger and the likes. We said when Pennant got clattered by Essien in the first half, had it have been the other way round our player would've been booked. It's so obvious it's pathetic.

Essien should of gone for the tackle on pennant

..and where did he get 6 minutes injury time from? Apparently Walton knew Chelsea had a history of scoring against us late on.

We were probably right - John Terry could be knocking off the ref then giving the linesmen sloppy seconds

The amount of extra added time he played due to Chelsea being on the attack was a joke and his performance was a joke. I have seen a lot of poor officiating this year but the Walters booking was a disgrace, not for the booking itself but the manner it was given. Walters went in for the tackle, the ref gave a free and that was it until Terry got up and shouted at the ref l, at which point he then produced a card for Walters.
The man is a disgrace.

I know it was his 1st foul & I know Terry is what he is but that was a booking all day long.

While we are on about Walton, how in the Wide World of Sports did Walters get booked?
Boswinga did exactly the same late on in the game and that tosser Walton gave them a throw-in!

to be fair I was sitting on the opposite side of the pitch however I thought Walters took Terrys legs away
Boswinga on Ethers (right in front of us)was a worse challenge & possibly warranted a red

Not to mention that Walton was the referee that sent Shawcross off because of the 'extent of the injury' even though he never even pointed for a foul.
Having said that this is also the very same referee that in two matches after the Shawcross incident failed to send off players that were involved in the double leg breaking of others.
How the eck he's allowed to ever officiate again is totally mind boggling to say the least.

I wonder who he favours when officiating 2 top 4 sides in the same game? Must really screw with his head.
Absolutely awful referee who has made countless baffling decisions every time we've had him.

Walton was also the ref when we conceeded 2 very late goals at Stamford bridge in our 1st prem season and just as today he couldn't wait to add all the injury time on.

Another big club loving, corrupt, inept cuntbox who needs putting down like a suffering hamster
How in fucking Gods name players, managers and fans alike are meant to show officials more respect like Scudamore proposed a couple of days back, when refs like Walton continue to cheat and make the wrong calls week in, week out, is beyond sanity and sense

I agree with all the above but also...Chelsea had a pen shout late on (don't know what for but weve seen them given) and he could have given the shawcross back pass....if he was really biased.
I think he's just one of those that is heavily influenced by dirty, cheating, referee surrounding dirtbag top four types

What I found most disgusting was Ancelotti chasing him into the tunnel after the game. What a horrible little club they are.

As for the backpass there would have been a riot.

Yes he is getting a bit of a reputation as being slightly corrupt. Link below is not very good quality: Blackpool were 2 - 0 up against Utd and had a blatant pen decision turned down by Walton. Not one to think that our refs are corrupt, but having watched his second half performance at both pool and Stoke it really does have you doubting.
