He wants buy one not renew, it lets him pick his seat and takes him through to the payment page, but he as no passport or drivers license, if they ask for proof of ID?

its let me do it before I was renewing all i could think is they may ask you to take id in order to collect the season ticket but I could not say for definate

If he is asked for proof then surly his birth cert will do it?

You will definitely have to show ID - I'm assuming he has a birth certificate? A couple of years back I renewed my son's season ticket on line - but I had to take his ID to the ground for them to copy and put on file - I did it the next time I was there. They'll probably wait for you to do that before they send out the ticket.
I'd email customer services - they've always been very helpful when I've had to sort a problem out.

When I had to prove my sons age (again) I just sent them a photocopy of his away card.
