What does this guy need to do to stop getting abuse from the Stoke fans
He had one of his best games he's had in a Stoke shirt today, chased everything down, won everything in the air, conrolled the ball and completed most of his passes.
The first goal, was made from his chasing the ball down, he defended brilliantly.
On one occasion he mis controlled the ball, but proceded to chase it to keep it in play.... Core a chorus of moans and groans from block 23, followed by £8 fucking million. etc
He then got pulled down, a chorus of moans groans, get on your feet you tit etc
after 80 odd minutes of chassing everything down, he was clearly knakered, so didnt close the keeper down on the one occasion and again moans groans and lazy shit etc
Garuntee you now if he had missed that penalty he wouldnt have recieved the same encouragment as Matty did

In answer to the first line of your post, i'd guess consistency, he has put in a few too many half arsed/poor showings which have affected the way he's perceived by some of the fans.

Much, much better today, but none of the other strikers we have compliment him enough to get the best out of him.
We need 6 goals from him between now and the end of the season, quality crosses from both flanks will help.

He was one of our best players today for me. Won a few very nice headers which were ACCURATE and not just random flick ons. Won the good knock down to Matty before he earned the penalty.

Did he win that too, i thought he did but wasnt sure, with the penalty decision I kinda forgot about it, and couldnt remember

I thought Kenwyne was one of our bright lights in a good performance there was 3 men today Whelan, Sorensen then Kenwyne they we're superb; I just hope KJ keeps this mentality until the end of the season.

Jones is a very good player , but I think he needs to time his runs inside the box better and to improve his positional sense in and around the penalty area at set pieces,...
He needs to be more selfish and take on more shots at goal...

Everyone please get in touch with reality, the guy earns more in a week than us loyal stoke fans earn in 2 years ! All i ask is that every stoke player fights for the right to wear our shirt, get in touch with reality and deal with the every day issues a family bloke like myself has to. FFS, imagine yourself wearing that strip, no doubt sheding blood and tears for the boys !! Please don't pitty Jones for having 'private problems', people like him have lost touch with reality

if you think that was a good performance for a striker you need your head testing. yes, an improvement but come on i wanna see alot more than that.

I actually got a text at half time from a mate of mine who isn't a Stoke supporter, and he just said 'that was handball, and what the fuck is up with that Jones, he's playing shit, needs to get his finger out!'
I don't think he was that awful today, but an improvement on diabolical, is just up to average.

Don't feel sorry for jones with his 'personal problems' off the pitch, I don't give a fuck what the guy is going through in his private life, what i do know is if i was lucky/ skilled enough to be in the same job as him i would sweat blood for the 90 minutes that i am called upon every week. I would love to see how pampered fuckers like him would cope with every day chores that working class people like myself have to deal with on a day to day basis

He needs to play like that every week, basically.
I helped that we mixed up the play more rather than just aimlessly hoofing it all game.
He and Walters were excellent I thought.

He was better - Much better
BUT - As our 'goalscoring striker' we got zero return - again. I can live with that but hate the hypocrites who slagged off Tuncay for lack of goals who in turn wish to defend Jones to teh hilt because TP 'Likes him'

It's an improvement on recent performances, thought he did well today as did Walters, good team selection from Pulis yesterday. He needs to be able to continue to play like that week in week out from now until the end of the season.

The shite that was coming out of a womans mouth yesterday was priceless. Wound me up so much that I told her that it was a waste of a seat allowing women into the ground, unless they were selling pies of course

Jones played really well & he was well up for it yesterday. people get annoyed because he's got the potential to put himself about like that every game but he doesn't. certain tools are determined to put the boot in though. A bloke next to me was dying to give Jones stick even before the 1st whistle & when Jones lost a header (he'd won the previous 5 headers in a row with no praise from this 'fan') he was quick to shout 'get him off!!!' If people get behind & support him then he'll end his goal drought sooner!!!

His best partner is Fuller but Ric's out of favour. Walters was a right-sided attacking midfielder at Ipswich but he's a Premiership striker with us???? For all of his workrate, where the hell is the quality? He's slow and ponderous on the ball. We have no options on the bench now Tuncay has gone (I'm not even counting Gudjohnsen) and Fuller gets a 4 minute cameo.

Gudjonsen has gone to Fulham (& done zip)
Ric's off the field stuff ;refusing to come back from his 'holiday' (Rics words allegedly) in time for the Sunderland game, turning up drunk for training (allegedly) isnt acceptable.
even if not true Ric doesnt look right to me.
However Jones &Carew is a crime so its either Ric or Walters
ideally Ric gets with the program & TP plays Ethers,JP,Ric & a refeshed Jones here on in.

KJ was better defending in our box than he was attacking in their box. He was better yesterday, but is no real threat in front of goal at the moment. He's really lost his mo-jo and looks like he's not bothered if he playes or he doesnt. Wouldn't have killed him yesterday to have given the people who pay his wages a bit of a clap as he left the pitch

As much as we often look poor without Ric and I've wished he'd start games, he doesn't seem to be doing himself any favours. The last two games it's taken him an age to get himself ready when TP's told him he's coming on. Agree with LB, something isn't right.
Walters is limited but he offers more than people give him credit for. On form he links the play very well and is always looking for the player making the run. He's got a better touch than he gets credit for as well.

He's looking better, but I don't think we can say more than that. I'm still amazed by how powder-puff such a big man can be in the air, and how easily bullied off the ball he is. I don't really care whether he works hard, but I do care that he gets dominated by almost all opposing centre-backs and seems totally lacking in confidence. It is still disappointing stuff in my opinion.
