Can't understand why Spurs wanted to leave. A great traditional stadium with atmosphere and a superb playing surface.

Great ground was there last season and saw a great win, don't think they really wanted to move i think it was a plan to ensure planning permission for the redevelopment of the lane.

White hart Lane is my fave ground in London it looks nice and compact
Craven crottage feels like a tourist center more than a ground to many prawn sandwich eaters and that ''neutral stand'' dear me ....
Stamford Bridge is a Crap stadium in a nice and posh area
Emirate stadiums i must admit looks very nice but the athmosphere is the worst of all the London Clubs
Upton Park.... all i can say is What the Fuck the wierdest ground in London ive been . I cant describe how dodgy Upton park Looks It looks like Lego Land in a ghetto area And all the stands looks Dodgy some are To small and one is To Big

I love White Hart Lane but the simple fact is that Tottenham Hotspur will find it almost impossible to remain competitive with such a restricted capacity.
36,000 is some 15,000 to 20,000 less than we realistically require at the moment.
The ideal situation would be to redevelop our existing stadium but thanks to meddling from bodies such as the Haringey Council, Transport for London and English Heritage, the project has become prohibitively expensive.

Cracking little ground which once had the best view of football you could have (the Shelf).
Still an amazing sound when they get their "Come on you Spurs" going, and if last night's game against Milan is anything to go by, their "Oh when the Spurs" is going to shame our "Oh when the reds"!!!!!

By far my favourite away day from last season. Great ground, good atmosphere, friendly fans - no hint of bother at all. Hope to make it down there again this season - but I fear the result won't be as good - but you never know...
I thought they had planning approval to expand/rebuild the existing ground.

We do, but the restrictions and additions imposed to our original plan have skyrocketed the costs to the point where it simply isn't economicially viable anymore. We are expected to pay for transportation infrastructure improvements which are the responsibility of the local council and Transport for London.

they've got 50-60,000 people on the waiting list for season tickets Thats got to be bollocks though hasn't it? Maybe the same people on the waiting list several times. If you wanted you could buy a season ticket at Old Trafford next season. Surely Spurs couldn't really sell 80,000 season tickets.

yeah, it's exactly the same reasons that arsenal left highbury.
the cost of a big new stadium is a better plan long term than upgrading the current ground.
the same could even be true of the vic

With the amount of money in football, the extra revenue a 60,000 seater would bring in and the hole in the public finances at the moment, I think the councils and TfL have a valid point.

They have the smallest ground of the current top five clubs. Something the size of Man City's ground (48,000) or larger is what they need. chelsea are the other "big" club whose ground is currently too small for them.

Um no Chelseas stadium is perfectly fine they dont even sell out stamford bridge despite being champions... and in London West ham has more supporters than them

That seams more sensible. I think if Spurs do move I'd be surprised if everyone on the waitng list would snap up season tickets. At the moment a season ticket is the only way Spurs fans can guarantee seeing more than a handful of matches. Once there are lots more seats on general sale the incentive to buy a season ticket disappears. Assuming most of those on the waiting list have never been more than semi-regular.

although it was nt pretty we managed to get a result and it was great to be there yet again.. on the subject of season tickets the number on the waiting list is laughable... it includes people on the membership scheme.. As for the ground haringay council knocked us back time and again till we finally got planning permission.. Spurs own most of the land / shops / houses where the new stadium would have been built AT the moment daniel levy has said it is not a viable option due to spirraling costs ie 450 million to build.. I believe that within 2 years time JOE LEWIS/ levy/enic WILL have sold up and moved on somewhere else. The reason enic wanted the OS is due to location ie canary wharf and the city..
ps cant believe we are in last 8 of CL coys

One of the few grounds that I havnt been to out of all the football league, cant get there this season either. I hate every club for some reason or other, but Tottingham are the only club that I dont seem to have a huge problem with..... perhaps its because they hate Arsenal almost as much as us
