I can't believe you would advocate playing almost a reserve side for such an important fixture!

I'll be extremely happy if Tone goes back to basics with that team.
It's the team for cup success and Premier League points in my opinion. (With maybe KJ for Carew if kenwyne feels "up for it".)

Haha nice one. Reserve side in TPs eyes but strongest 11 to most people besides Sorensen of course but to be fair he's done well in the cup games

Got to agree. I'd go with the first team posted on the thread and have to be honest with that line up every week until the end of the season I wouldnt worry about the big R at all.I'd only consider using bego instead of tommy but at the mo I'd have to toss a coin on that one

Whilst I obviously agree that DC should be in the Brazil team ( ), higgy gives us more of a goal threat from set pieces and unlike Pugh, can actually track back and defend

I'd play Pugh before I played Collins. I'd play Higgy before either.
Interesting how many people have come to realise how important Fuller is. Would anyone still argue against him starting at the moment?

He's started five. And not looked up to it generally. He and Wilson is a massively lightweight combo as well, especially if West Ham go three in the middle.

West ham hurt us on Saturday, we costantly gave them the ball after we had chased around after it, for a good couple of minutes. We need to keep possesion better than we did. Whitehead and Delap 'defend' far to deeply, which allows the oppostion to pass it around our area untill they take a shot. That, for me, is the reason we are in this relegation dog-fight.

Spinks is a joke, as he showed on P&G at the weekend in trying to defend playing Fuller on the wing and making out that the second half performance meant nobody had a right to criticise. Whelan started at Arsenal the other week just off the top of my head, so it's certainly more than one. Whelan is hugely not the answer to the "keeping possession" problem, given his propensity for passing it to the advertising hoardings under no pressure whatsover. Delap and Whitehead aren't the reason we're in trouble - they weren't last season, were they? We're in trouble because we don't defend well enough and we don't create or score enough.

Isn't Rory and Deano's job supposed to be protecting our back four? Our two centre halfs are having a decent season, it is the constant pressure that is being put on them by Delap and Whiteheads inability to keep possesion or find a pass.
If they aren't helping the back four (which they are clearly not), and they are not creating goals at the other end, what are they doing?
Time for a change

Time for a change They are protecting the back four - they're no different to how they were last season, when we were fine. The problems are at full back and general individual mistakes, and sitting back - which is the manager's call. Plus we don't create or score enough - especially since we stopped playing Ric and both wingers. We need a new midfield but they are NOT the reason why we're in trouble.

Agreed we all know what the problems are but a win in the cup followed by a win against Newcastle will sort it all out in the short term.
