Is it me, or is it painfully obvious we practise NO one touch passing, movement off the ball in training...when we get the ball past the half way line we often look lost, either searching for the ball in the sky or wondering what to do with it on the deck. All I can imagine in training is fitness for 20 mins, finishing with Delap hurling balls into the box with players fighting to win the ball!

It's well known that we don't train with a football, its all fitness, running and stretching. It's really costing us, but thats what Pulis likes.
I'm sure an ex-player remarked that.

I've never been either, but it is no secret that the majority of time in training is spent running around without a football. I expect a 'training regular' will be on later to educate us? If you compare our pre-match training regime to that of every other club we play its the same story. While the opposition are playing a short, quick passing warm-up we're running from one side of the pitch to the other, or playing 40-yard passes to one another.
I also remember Lawro was on SoccerAM a few weeks ago and mentioned Pulis didn't like his players to show any skills in training either. It might have been Hoefkens who remarked that he was shocked at the amount of time Pulis likes his players to train with a football.

I wouldnt be too bothered if we could actually keep up with attackers ( griff ) but something has to be done. I have patience and keep that hope in me that this is our season.

Nobody questioned the training when we were top of the league, why start now. The problem last night was with selection.

Nobody questioned the training when we were top of the league, why start now. The problem last night was with selection. The problem since Preston has also been the complete lack of any cohesion when attacking. When we were top of the league, the cohesion was there. Now we are struggling it isn't - it should be worked on it training. The loan players should gel on the training pitch with our contracted players. The players and management should be doing everything possible to improve passing, movement and creativity, because the other key problem last night (aside from the terrible team selection) was the reliance on the hopeful (hopeless?) long-ball.

Because we are so predictable and one dimensional, other teams have worked us out. We therefore need to work on something different which will help us in these last few games.

Is Nash only in the side because he can kick the ball to Trentham from the Boothen End and to Shelton from the away end?

Before the game when they train the difference in the teams is massive. The opposition usually have a 1/2 touch game on a small pitch whereas our players stand 30 yards apart and pass it! It really is a massive contrast.
