Said it before but its amazing how quickly we have lost the ability to deal with adversity. We are Stoke for heavens sake and that has meant nearly 30 years of some dreadful football and shocking results. We have some real problems at the minute but these child-like tantrums because everything isnt exaclty as we would like it are unreal. Surely this can be resolved with a bit of unity - at least lets get to the end of the season giving the team and manager total backing and then take it from there.

if we loose against west ham in the cup and against newcastle at home, i will kill myself. It's lose not loose, why can't people spell lose ? Especially Stoke fans who have had more experience of the word than most !! At least if you end up killing yourself you will be a better speller!

Sheikhmomo,
This is not about 3 years though I'm afraid. Every supporter has a right to their view and some simply don't like the Pulis way, despite the fact that we got promotion. I'm assuming you went yesterday? If so what did you see in the performance, or any of the previous 5 away games, that suggests we are progressing NOW? Even more telling, what have you seen in the last 2 home league games? It is a results business, something TP plays on. Get results and you can get away with some dross. Fail to deliver and you are dead in the water.

There is already unrest, it's here now and was evident yesterday. The boos rang out on both substitutions and lots of supporters left in disgust before the end. What is more telling is nobody tried to defend Pulis yesterday that I spoke to and I heard no obvious objections to the shouts of "go Pulis" (or words to that effect). Generally we are a tolerant bunch but when it starts to turn it turns quickly as history has shown. What Coates will want to avoid is any loss to his own reputation. He will ride it for now but the next couple of games are massive. Finally, people should not fall into the trap of suggesting Pulis is being hounded out. Our current situation is entirely self-inflicted and ultimately people have the right to demand value for their hard- earned money and time, something I'm sure Mr Coates would have to agree with. The blue touch paper has been lit! Spot on - it changed yesterday from I'I aint going away again' to 'Pulis out etc' He truly lost the crowd yesterday for the first time and the a more sinister mood came over most of us Everything is spectacularly in the balance now - that's for sure. You can almost taste the tension that's starting to envelope the place. You can't really put into words how important next week is. And, if it's possible, the Newcastle game could then be quite a bit bigger still... On the other occasions that the Pulis pressure gauge has overheated in his second spell, the 'Pulis Out'/'Pulis, Pulis, What's the score?' chants flickered, but quickly died before they became anything resembling a campaign. In both the Burnley (September 2006) flashpoint, which was the immediate prelude to Hudson's aborted red card protest - and the later Plymouth (September 2007) flashpoint , it was early season - and the players were able to dig things out as they weren't particularly lacking confidence - and results (and Diao, Hendrie etc in the case of 2006) quickly followed.

I feel that its very close to the chanting, our football at the minute is dire and miles away from last season at times and also some stages of early season. TP IMO is trying to prove a point to someone and is behaving like a complete arsehole.

TP IMO is trying to prove a point to someone and is behaving like a complete arsehole. just like he did when the Icelandics refused to fund the Zamora and Crouch deals. he started using tactics and picking players to almost prove a point to the board. a mate of mine suggested today that maybe Coates has said theres no money available at the minute or something, which is why we saw no money spent in Jan other than on Pennant. something is definately going wrong and has induced this reverting back to ultra negativity from Tone.

For me i think this would be a very very sad moment after what has been achieved under his stewardship but thats not to say i don't understand the frustration around the place at the minute.

Anybody who thinks that TP is putting out weakened teams on purpose to 'prove a point' is off their meds IMHO.

But the thanks cannot go on forever, going by that statement he can do no wrong and should not be questioned which is bollocks.

Not at all knype and he's doing a hell of alot wrong at the minute but all i hope for is a good end to the season and as i predict he calls it a day at the end of the season before everything turns sour.

Close but be can put them all far far away if he picks the team and starts playiing attacking football which we saw when Peter Reid was here, and Gerry Francis was coaching on a daily basis.
-----------------------Bego----------------
Wilko-----Ryan--------Huth (c)----------Higgy
Pennant----Wilson---Whitehead----Ethers
---------------Jones ------Carew------------
But play Jones in a role he is capable of doing, and not chasing fucking hopeless balls over his head, and in hope he can win a flick on, because he cant do it, he likes it at his feet in the area, not running around chasing hopefulls, then the fans get pissed off with him, which is very unfair on him.

Anybody who thinks that TP is putting out weakened teams on purpose to 'prove a point' is off their meds IMHO. Why he's done it before. Pulis and coates have had a spat over the Ba deal, as has been said before he did exactly the same thing when the icelandic board pulled the zamora and crouch deals.

[quote What was it you were confidently predicting on Friday...we were in a position where we were going to produce one of our backs to the wall victories? What exactly were you basing that on then? By the way, hows that "Bolton will drop like a stone" prediction going for you? Knockout blow

We've been spoilt and become complacent because no one can argue we've done superbly over the last two seasons.
I will never chant for Pulis to go.
