I wouldn't care if he never wore a Stoke shirt again! He's been absolutely shocking since he came back. No way should he be playing, let alone captain. He's making a number of stupid mistakes game after game at the moment. Wilco a far better option in my opinion.

I would prefer Wilkinson too...although Moses was only 17 and very quick too. An excellent prospect...

i didnt see either of the palace goals last night, so i dont know if his mistakes led to them, but i thought griff was very tidy last night. especially second half.

I see what you're saying about Victor Moses but I'm not talking exclusively about last night. Think Griffin's been shocking for weeks. As for Palaces goals, he was nowhere near his man for their first and we were punished as a result.

I agree that griffin has been very dodgy of late but imo he had a steady game last night . You could say that he should have been closer to his man for the first goal but in all honesty it was the excellent play from Sinclair that made the goal . Griff was up against a very good and pacy player in Moses last night and he stood up well .

Grif WAS better last night BUT he seems to have lost a yard of pace even from last year.

He was crap, has been crap and will more than likely continue to be crap. We all know Pulis won't drop him though

I'd have Wilko over Griff any day at right back. Wilko and Dicko made those full back places there own in that Newcastle match, only Pulis opted for the experience of Griff who unfortunately doesn't have any pace left in him Griff got the piss taken out of him in the premiership with Derby, and he's now having the piss taken out of him in the championship too

I think that Andy Griffin was a better attacking fullback than defensive when he first arrived at the Brit but now Pulis wants him to concentrate on the defensive bit he has been lacking.
Wilko and Dicko are not world beaters but are dogged defenders with bottle. Exactly what we need now.
Griff just doesnt look like he would die for the cause like they would.

Exactly SwissTone - the reason why this board is full up with comments about Griffin is beacsue we know he has it in him to be a class defender!! we see glimpses of it, but not ofte enough... fuck sake Griff, get a grip ......
YOUR ON THE CREST OF TAKING 'YOUR BELOVED' STOKE CITY UP INTO THE PREMIERSHIP, ITS A DREAM OF YOURS?!!?!
WELL FUCKING PLAY LIKE ITS YOUR DREAM THEN!!!

Is it possible that promotion would be a bad thing for andy griffin. He's comfortable here in an area where his family are settled and on decent money. He proved in the summer he doesn't really care that much for the club. I'm not for one second suggesting that he doesn't want us to go up or questioning him as a professional but is it at least possible that this kind of situation could play on a footballers mind and act as a distraction?

Then again we have 2 banks of 4 defensively and when a full back needs cover there's no-one to be seen.
The worrying thing for Stoke is that teams seem to target Griff as the weak spot so the bad patch he is going through is being exposed and punished.
We need a bit more blood and thunder from him.
Come on Griff there's quality there somewhere.
