It has been very interesting recently to read all the comments about our current form, or the lack of it! I am worried that if we finish this season by struggling and that could be a distinct possibility given the way we are playing and our remaining fixtures, this could have serious consequences on how we can strengthen the team for the next season. If our current form drags us into a relegation dogfight, this will have a major impact how potential players we may be interested in signing in the summer will view us. Secondly players will look at our current style of play, which at present is regressing not evolving , if you were a decent midfielder would you want to keep seeing the ball constantly whizzing overhead or indeed end up playing at left back! Next there is the issue of wages will always be an issue and quite rightly so. Many of the players whose names are mentioned on this board want ridiculous salaries, for example I heard that when we showed an interest in Jermaine Jenas he reportedly wanted over £100,000 per week. Also, I personally believe that the club management all too often display a fixated approach as to who we should sign, Cameron Jerome is a good example, maybe it’s just me but what exactly would this player offer us? At best he’s a decent Championship player not someone to move us on to the ‘next level’. As I started by saying if we finish down on last year’s place in the table, then I think our potential to recruit better players will greatly diminish, if you look at the current squad there are number of players that are simply not good enough for the premiership or they are in the ‘twilight’ of their career. This does not bode well in our ability to stave off a possible battle to avoid relegation in the following season.

Hopefully someone will tell Tone about a magical place where good footballers can be purchased for very little money.
It's called abroad.
