In regards to the fans, there seems to be an awful lot of negitivity about our recent performances and it seems more and more people are getting frustrated by Tony. Im very interested to hear your views on this matter.

We need at least one point from this game! We can't keep on losing away, we must stop the rot!

To be honest, anything from this weekend's game will be a bonus. I really can't see us getting anything.
I think the must win is Newcastle - and, if we've beaten West Ham in the cup, we'll be buzzing for that one.

I can't see us getting a tap out of this one but that's because my SCFC winning mentality is on it's arse right now. I can't afford to go because i'm forking out a grand for ST's this week but i can afford for my daughter to go...just hope she isn't disappointed after a week of GCSE's...but then she never is and always finds a positive in our games.... she isn't like her mum

It'll all depend on the starting 11 he picks and the tactics.
If he picks the strongest players available to him, plays them in their proper fucking positions and lets us actually attack for once then it might re-instill some faith in Pulis' mindset.
Whereas if we set up like we have been doing, playing our predictable percentages hoofing nonsense and lose, then the heat will turn up on Pulis.

Message for Tone: Please play Fuller against West Ham . If you must start with KJ and Big John, at least give Ric half an hour to terrorise them like last season. And lets attack them, not try to contain them. I know you are naturally cautious, but for the next two games at least, lets take it to em. We can burst their effin' bubbles !

The chances of us getting a result down there are grim. Its a team bang in form, against a team that appears to have ran out of ideas.
It`s going to take a massive effort and a big slice of luck to get us out of this rut, and hats off to any Stoke fan who is going to Upton Park on Saturday.
The best we can hope for is a backs to the wall 0-0.

Nope, I just want a non confrontational reasoned debate with fellow Stoke fans about our forthcoming Premiership fixture against West Ham United.

Very important game. There was a thread earlier on 3 season defining games, Brazil & Sham (A & cup). 2 wins & its happy days. 2 defeats & it changes the season - seige mentality needed to head off relegation.

After the Birmingham game I said that there wasn't a cat in hell's chance of us being relegated and that that was the reason I was so disappointed with our negativity there.
If we lose on Saturday then I think I may have to have a re-think. We'll probably still be okay, but it'll be more a case of us limping over the finishing line than being as comfortable as we've been for the last couple of seasons.
The one thing that is a worry is that we've now lost 14 games this season (only Wolves have a worse record of defeats than us) and when you look at the who we've got to play between now and the end of the season, it's not unrealistic to think that we could well be touching the 18/19 and possibly 20 defeat mark if we're not careful.
Teams have been relegated with that amount of defeats, and though our win count and goal difference will probably see us home, it really doesn't augur well.

the rumblings and murmurings regarding his tenure, are gathering pace, and only he can change that. it is up there in the 'most inmportant ' games. the added importance of this one is, that we dont give wet sham a reason to be super confident for the following week.

Agree Dave F. The game is winnable though and we need to have a go. The thing that concerns me is that West Ham will score and we will need 2 to win this game. Right now I don't know where we will get goals away from home.
It is important to put in a performance. The away support is dwindling and this is a mammoth trip for Stokies especially with the tube problems this weekend. There could be even more noise if we play negatively and people have a 4-5 hour jouney home! The reality is that a siege mentality point will probably be seen as a success given our current away form and hide the cracks for the time being.
Right now I just want to get points, get to safety as soon as possible then have the debate as to the future. I want to see a much better style of football but accept now may not be the best time to rock the boat. I do however reserve the right to complain if, having spent the thick end of £150, the performance merits it. Pulis needs to be big enough to take it just like David Moyes was last night.

Im very interested to hear your views on this matter. It's not anymore important to the fans that like Pulis because most of his fans are realists who understand the game and appreciate that we play the 19 other best teams in the country who ALL expect to win their home games. His knockers however will perhaps see it as important since it's a chance to slag him and make negative comments about him and therefore us. I'd be delighted with a point, ecstatic with a win and content if we lose with some pride. I'm an optimist though who dreamed of being in the position we are now for a very long time.

Knowing Pulis and Stoke, we'll win 4-0. Would love that. Kj all four ;D We always seem to win everyone writes us off and we're playing shit. Like when we played Leeds and won 4-0. The week before was the week when Waddo and his red cards were meant to be making an appearance. I remember that trip to Elland Road, expecting a draw at the very best, and even at 1-0, thinking Leeds would come back and win.

It IS the most important because it's the NEXT one. Yes there will be the usual whining on here if we lose but then the Newcastle game will become "The most important game of the season". A loss at West Ham and a win at home to Newcastle puts us on 37 points (probably ONE win from safety). All this do or die stuff is nonesense at the beginning of March FFS.

I'm afraid that I'm looking forward to my trip with my son down to Upton Park on Saturday like a trip to the dentist. With a bit of luck it wont be too painful, but the likelihood is that the starting 11 will be the same/similar to Monday night. The only difference is that the dentist gives you anesthetic to take away the pain and is probably cheaper than getting into Upton Park! £21 for a 10 year old is theft

Stan,
I'm taking Nurofen Plus with me just in case! The codeine works well.
My daughter's just turned 16 and I had to pay full-whack for her! I'm sure this will be taken into account in team selection and performance!!
Good luck with the journey if you are going on the tube/bus/foot - it's going to be a long one!
