cost us the 3 points last night
I cant understand how we are known for our defencive abilities and last night they were non apparent.
We couldn't intercept balls, couldn't make simple challenges and when we did we gave the ball away straight away
and again, just like at Arsenal, we let a ball come in, and left a player unmarked and un challenged 6yards out, in the center og the goal

Its not really our defence, the way we play (i.e. give the ball away by kicking it long all the time) means we are continually surrendering possession and we hardly ever keep the thing for sustained periods of time.
Opposition teams have shit loads more of the ball compared to us which puts the whole team under pressure.
I guarantee if we kept more of the friggin ball a lot of these problems would cease to exist.
I'm not saying go all tippy-tappy-mostly-crappy but we need much better ball retention.

Our defence comes under unmanageable pressure WBA had 67% of percentage in the second half last night That is outrageous for a home team against a bottom 3 team. It doesn't matter how good your defence is, at some point they are going to make a mistake under that kind of pressure The likes of Vidic, Terry, Ferdinand have never had to cope with an opposition given so much possession in their lives |

On the contrary our defence, including Begovic, did well considering we were overrun everywhere else on the pitch.
The defence wasn't our big problem last night, not that they did particularly well, except Begovic, more worrying is that against a poor side we couldn't fashion one chance from open play. Too much was expected of the defence, as well as defending they were seemingly asked to be the only ones to pass it between each other. which was a strange tactic.

I have but it was a blatant offside and we had worked the trap well by pushing out quite quickly for us. I don't think they would have got back to him in time anyway. Just one of those things.
