Not confident about this one at all. West Ham to win 2-0.
Team I think we'll put out: 4-5-1 Begovic Wilkinson Higginbotham Shawcross Huth Pennant Whitehead Delap Wilson Walters Carew

they've lost 1 in their last 6
scored 12 in 3 games
all their players are confident and fighting to stay up. looking at whams team its insane they are not in the top 8. but i guess new signings and players back from injury do that to a team
could see this being a hiding if stoke get off to a shaky start.

morning the north.
just to temper some of your pessimism - west ham havent won 2 league games on the spin for about 2 years. we blow hot and cold all the time and still cannot defend to save our lives.

means jack shit at the moment pott...we're all a bit flat over our own performance. Just goes to show how league position doesn't necessarily reflect performance

I think, as West Ham bar the last 3 games have been generally cack, we'll do them 2-1... I don't get all this bigging up a team in the bottom 3, Pulis gets murdered for doing it yet most of The Oatcake are doing the same thing...

we've had 2 1.1 draws (over 90 mins) so far.
cant see either side not scoring so 1.1 again?

If Pulis has a go we will beat them as I feel Upson and Tomkins will struggle to handle Big John Carew.
However,
If Pulis decides to sit back with the negative tactics I can see us going down 2-0 to the Spammers then we wait for the long list of them to come on the Oatie and slaughter us.
So to conclude. Pulis, attack them as they are in the bottom three for a reason.
Stoke to win 2-0 (Carew, Etherington)

There was a time last season when I honestly didnt have any fear before any fixture, and truly believed that we were capable of getting a result against anyone. Im afraid I have no hope or optimism at all for this fixture, the only good thing is I live overseas so havnt the problem of whether to go to the game or not, and I wont be as disappointed when we lose.
All the Stokies going you have my utmost respect, but I fear the worst and the best result I can see is a 0-0 draw.
Fuck me.

Same. I've never felt so negative before a game as i do now. I'm not even excited for this one.

Then what the hell do we do?
Soares and Tonge must surely be contenders for tomorrow if this is the case?
Id perhaps look at something like
Bego Wilson Huth Shawcross Pugh Soares Delap Whitehead Tonge Carew Walters/Fuller
However, i'm a little worried we might end up seeing Delap and Walters on the wing....could look like....
Bego Wilson Huth Shawcross Pugh Delap Whitehead Whelan Walters Jones Carew

What we will do is sit deep and lump the ball over the top of the midfield. We would have done that if they were both fit. Both of them would not have played anyway. Too gung ho for Tone and we have to slot the slling-shot in somewhere.

Tuncay will start right-wing..........oh shit...!
Jamie O'Hara from the left will start........oh shit..!
Erm Jon 'The Creator' Walters from the right and Pugh could push up to left-wing and bring Higgy left-back???

I'd recall Ben Marshall irrespective of whose available tomorrow. Ethers and Pennant always seem to be carrying injuries and Marshall is our only other genuine winger.

So if Pennant and Etherington are injured.. we are fucked.

If the team give up as easily as the so-called supporters, we're in for a hiding. Fortunately, as we have shown many many times in the past, this team is a team with backbone and does not take after the wilting daisy example set by some supporters.
We are going to go there, match them step for step and then come back with a 3-1 win.
GO STOKE!!!!

I'm dreading to think what could happen.
Playing Delap out there is a joke. I'd rather see Tom Soares given a start than that happen, as crap as he is at least he might get past a player now and again.
No way will do that though. It'll be rory on the right and Walters on the left.

Post by Trouserdog on Mar 4, 2011 19:05:52 GMT
And another thing...perhaps it wasn't such a good idea pissing Liam Lawrence off by picking Delap on the wing ahead of him all last season?
Fucking hell, Pulis pisses me off sometimes.*
*most of the time
