And just how crap was his interview on radio Stoke afterwards, was he watching the same game? His decision to play Sidibe was a joke and so was his excuse "Ricardo wasn't fully fit and he hasn't played for a few games" I suppose Sidibe was fit and he'd played every game in the last 2 months. With team selections like that it's you Pulis that's not fit, not fit to manage this team!

if fuller wasnt fit fully fit then he still should of started with him then took him off if/when he was tired! that excuse is fucking pathetic, the real reason is hes a stubborn cunt who didint want do what all the fans have been wanting and play shola and fuller! its always fucking sidibe sidibe sidibe! well tony guess what? sidibe is fucking wank!

Even if Fuller wasn't fully fit, and by Pulis's own admissions neither was Sidibe why not give Bothroyd a chance with Cresswell partnering Ameobi? the point is there were other options yet he insisted on playing the appallingly poor Sidibe. Sidibe wasn't the only poor player on the pitch for Stoke tonight but that's another thread

I'd have rather played five defenders than that shower of shit that's Sidibe.

Ameobi is exactly thhe same player as Sidibe, but scores occasionally. What's the point in playing two players who're so alike it's ridiculous, and one who can't score for all the tea in China? Anyone with a modicum of intelligence would have chosen Ameobi and Fuller... But no, Pulis has to go with the exact opposite in the hope that it works to hopefully prove him to have a better footballing brain.
The man is as stubborn as a mule and twice as stupid.

I wouldn't have picked that team.
I would have had Fuller up front with Shola from the start.
If Fuller wasn't fit then I would have played Cresswell with Shola.
We have a lack of pace at the back when we play against pacey wingers.
Still, it ain't over yet.

Im not a really big hater if pulis but tonight i think his decisions to play who he did was shocking.Fuller was superb when he came on and should off started and taken off when he was tired like kingdeano say's.I think pugh was shit as evertme the ball came to him he hoofed it up the field, not once did i see a good piece of play that was on the deck.If thats premiership quality pulis think again mate cause it was a shower of shit.

Spiderman, Fully agree with you.
Pulis should have played Dicko and pushed Pugh into centre midd and played Delap wide right with Liam out. He then could have played Shola and Creswell up front and dropped Sidibe. But he should have started with Fuller (in my opinion) in a game that would take us top and put pressure on the other teams. He could have taken him off after an hour or so as Kingdeano stated. And his interview after was shit he wouldn't admit that tactically he was wrong. We have the players why not play them????

Sidibe, Pugh & Shola - fuckin waste of space.....
Pulis - to play Mama & Shola up top together jus proves that Pulis is bottling it, he's scared to put Fuller on the pitch incase he loses him for the season due to lack of fitness & getttin caught in a tackle of some sort......
STOP with the fucking 'cotton wool' treatment Tony - YOUR fucking this up for EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US!!!!
Play your strongest side EVERY game, fuck loyalty..... u need results... and fast!!!
Jesus fucking H Christ!

I’m gutted. I know it’s not over yet, but IMO it’s play-offs for us now and I’ve never fancied our chances in the play-offs. We can look at the other teams around us and the difficult games they’ve got but if we aren’t winning then that is irrelevant. I hope I’m wrong because the devastation of losing in the play-offs would be 10 times as bad as I felt last night and as I feel now.
Gutted, absolutely gutted.

You know its a bad day when you have to agree with Spiderman. Yes, its THAT bad. Thank fuck nobody cut me up on the way in today else i'd be lookin at a long stretch.
Like everyone else I was gutted to hear about Lawrence and even more that Fuller didnt start. If he's fit enough to pull a pair on, he shouldve been on from the start. And another thing...are we trying for the Fair Play award or something? Rule No. 1 for central defenders (or even wide ones for that matter) LET THEM KNOW YOU'RE THERE!! For 20 mins I didnt know Riggott was on the fuckin pitch!! I bet they laughed their bollacks off all the way back down the M1

After last night there is no excuse to not start with Fuller and Shola. It was apparent to everyone watching the match that they caused alot more problem for the defenders. We are also lacking a commanding force on the pitch. Griff should lose the captains armband and give it to Lawrence if fit.

For me the biggest mistakes last night were (obviously) not starting with Fuller, I would have also gone with Dicko at LB instead of Pugh and I would have played Shawcross instead of Cort. Pulis was probably thinking Cort would be up for it against his old club, but head should rule heart and Shawcross should have played.
We were no where near good enough 1st half. We can rue the luck we had with Sidibe’s header but you need to create more than one chance to deem yourself unlucky. We should have gone all out from the first whistle and it didn’t happen.

jolly...I think that is particularly harsh on Riggott who was easily our best player last night. However, I do agree with you. We are not physical enough, and seemed to have lost a little in that regard without the likes of Eustace, Zakhani, Wilko and Dicko not appearing regularly. Neither full-back is capable of a bone crunching tackle, and Cort is surely the biggest fanny ever to play centre half. We need to get the honest agression back into our game and fast, but with Pulis' preferred players in situ, I don't think that is likely to happen at any point soon. KINDER - I will attempt to defend Shola, who obviously wasn't at his best last night. However, with Mama and Cresswell alongside him, he had no support whatsoever and was constantly surrounded by 2-3 defenders. When Fuller eventually arrived, Shola looked pretty tired and whilst he improved a bit, he wasn't fresh enough to make the most of it. He was far better at Shef Wed on Saturday! Equally, lumping the ball up aimlessly to him, or asking him to chase Mama's flick on's is hardly likely to bring the best out of him is it. The defence rests its case!

kinder, it's a bit unfair to expect the likes of Ameobi to work wonders straight away when, like so many players TP brings in, he cannot possibly be match fit.
Let's hope that they're all fit for the play-offs, though haven't given up entirely on automatic, seeing how strange and poor this league is.

surreystokie..Quite right, however it is only fair to point out that life in the Championship is very different to life in the Premiership. Players do have more time to show off their silky skills far more in the Premiership than they do in this league. It's not so much to do with fitness...but perhaps more to do with the pace of the game and shutting down opponents much more quickly. Ameobi needs a little more time to adjust to the game in the Championship.
