OK, we live down here in darkest Hampshire, but my middle son (8) although he was born and lived all his life down here and is now a Stokie, loves Oatcakes. Picked up a couple of packs at the Brighton game (thanks Bro'), and he's eaten them all . Looked online to order some more (since the local Sainsburys stopped selling them a few years ago), and they're £5+ for 12 Oatcakes . One site even said that that they'd hope to get them sent within 7 working days? So, just how much are Oatcakes back in Stoke?

70 something pence for a pack of six from Tesco. Usually about a quid odd for six from a proper shop.

Would kill for one of these now No, I'm not really hungry. I just sometime crave them occasionally, and when that happened at home I'd drive to the local Co-op because they sell them. At Uni though, this isn't the case.

Send us a recipe you dick. www.allotment.org.uk/recipe/77/recipe-for-north-staffordshire-oatcake/Years ago Sainsburys all over the country used to sell 'em, I could just wander down to the one near me in Portsmouth and pick a packet up. What always amazed me was that Sainsburys never saw fit to include any recipe ideas or instructions in the packet, so I don't know what they expected people who'd never seen 'em before would do with them Cupid - get cooking, you could knock these out all over campus and pay your way through uni from the proceeds ;D Took me a couple of goes to get it right when I made them but I got there in the end.

Those ones that the supermarkets used to sell/still sell are absolutely fucking toss. They are no where near what an Oatcake actually is.
