If we make the final and lose to a team who has already qualified for Champs League do we automatically qualify for Europa Shite? And if we then win the Europa Shite do we qualify for Champs league the following season. Ta. p.s. Not getting too far ahead of mesen am I?

If we win the Europa League we won't be in the CL unless the rules change.

I really didnt know that....feck me its a bigger challenge to win the europa shite than finish fecking 4th in the froggy league! If they changed the rules it would certainly make winning the thing more appealing.

What happens if we get to the Semi - Final and lose, but the final is between two teams that finish in the top 4 (ie Man U, and Man City).
Who gets the extra Europa place then??

If Birmingham win the League Cup (& therefore qualify for Europe) & we lost to them in the FA Cup final would we get a Europa League spot?

If Birmingham win the League Cup (& therefore qualify for Europe) & we lost to them in the FA Cup final would we get a Europa League spot? I think so. If the FA Cup winners are already qualified for Europe (ie not just the Champions League) then the FA Cup runners up get a Europa spot.

They dont, it goes too 7th in the league. Thats why we had villa, citeh and liverpool in europa league this year. The only way you can qualify for europe from the fa cup is to win it(which is what pompey did). Think fulham entered via the fair play league though?

They dont, it goes too 8th in the league. Thats why we had villa, citeh, fulham and liverpool in europa league this year. I'm sure the Carling Cup runners up cannot qualify for Europe but the FA Cup runners up can if the winners are already qualified through the league. Villa were FA Cup runners up and that is how they qualified.

Villa finished 6th, qualified through the intertoto cup mate, fulham got in from the fair play league, so if someone in europe wins the FA cup, that place then goes too the team who finish top of the fair play league that season.

From what I understand (and read on Wikipedia), we have four Champions League spots up for grabs, and thee Europa League spots.
Champions League places all go to the top four in the league.
The first Europa League place goes to the 5th placed team in the league.
The second Europa League place goes to the FA Cup winners, unless the FA Cup winners qualify for the Champions League, in which case the second Europa League place goes to the FA Cup runners up. If the FA Cup runners up have already qualified for a European competition (ie, by finishing 1st to 5th, or winning the League Cup), then the second Europa League place would go to the highest placed team in the League that haven't already qualified for a European competition.
The third Europa League place goes to the League Cup winners, unless they have already qualified for a European competition, in which case the third Europa League place goes to the highest placed team in the League that haven't already qualified for a European competition.
Simple, no?

We would only qualify for the Europa League via the FA Cup if we won it, or lost in the final to a team that qualifies for the Champions League.

Using the Birmingham example... even if Birmingham won the League Cup AND The FA Cup, their Europa League place would be based on their winning the FA Cup, which means that the team that won the League Cup has already qualified for Europe, so the place goes to the next highest team in the league, and NOT the FA Cup runners up.
Oh, triple post. *Slaps self.*
